Safe travel runs bro!
I went once to the Neil Armstrong Museum there in Wapa during my youth group years.
I'm still debating whether or not to go out and do a measurement.
For some reason I don't have steady hands when taking pics with a cellphone. I tried taking a few at a cousins reunion e.g. in southern Indiana in July 2021 and the results were like a blurry 'earthquake'!
Glad I'm not a surgeon.
Currently 36 here in G'ville.

Eric, hope is well with you and your family. I am the worse person with a camera of any type. almost 30 years ago I was in Disney World with my wife and two kids. My wife took most of the pics but I took one because I sat out the ride. Of course back then no instant photo. So when we got back home the pic I took was wonderful except it was a pic of a different family and none of my family made it into the photo.MVWxObserver wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 4:02 pmI finished shoveling around 3 o'clock Bro.tron777 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 12:50 pmMan up! Hi Tim, thank you for asking bro. We're all hanging in there with the Lord's help and don't know how we'd get by daily without Him. My mom has a getting established appt with a Rheumatologist in Lima, OH this next Tues 1/31 for her Polymyalgia Rheumatica. Prednisone also helps her everyday.tpweather wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 4:17 pmEric, hope is well with you and your family. Hopefully you and your family are all doing well.
I actually did better with my (antique) Kodak camera back then than with my cellphone nowadays.

I'm not too great with a cell phone either. I'm decent with a video camera though. I'm an 80s kid so yes, my folks had the Polaroid too!MVWxObserver wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 4:02 pmI finished shoveling around 3 o'clock Bro.tron777 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 12:50 pmMan up! 0.52" for my precip total today. Temps are falling and it is just nasty this evening. 36 degrees with light drizzling rain and breezy conditions. No thank you!

Saw a few minutes ago on the WHIO7 wx segment and a snowfall totals map showed that Greenville e.g. got 3.40"

KDAY received 5.0 inches for the day with a high of 42 and the low, so far, of only 33. Pretty odd stats. 5 inches of snow and not even getting to the freezing mark. Up to 14.8 at KDAY for the season.

I can do one better. KIND reported a snow depth of 2" on 0.68" liquid. That's like 4:1 snow ratios. On the season they only have a sad 5.1"
Re: Nail Biter Storm 1/24 - 1/26/23
You're kidding me! They only received 2 inches out of this storm?

Hey Doug,
KDAY's 5.0 inches set a new record for the date from 4.9 in 1915!

Re: Nail Biter Storm 1/24 - 1/26/23
I woke up to a skiff of snow on the car top this morning. Look for windy conditions and scattered snow showers today with briefly reduced vis. should you happen to get underneath a heavier snow shower.
Re: Nail Biter Storm 1/24 - 1/26/23
Scattered snow showers today. The period I am most concerned about is the 3p-6p period. Once the sun starts to set temps go down just enough to cause problems on the roads with a quick but heavy snow shower. There is dry air working in from the west but the timing is key and if that gets here earlier then the problem is lessen. I always watch on days like this when you get a 30 minute period of sun as this adds a little more energy to these snow showers. Accumulations should be under an inch but if we get the icy roads it can be a problem.

I agree Tim, that is when the lapse rates should be at their steepest. Will also need to watch the snow squall parameter as well. Currently, the better lapse rates are well south of us, but the snow squall parameter is very nice attm esp over North and Central KY. If we can get those better lapse rates in here later today we should be in business for some scattered heavier bursts.tpweather wrote: ↑Thu Jan 26, 2023 7:58 am Scattered snow showers today. Seeing some mood flakes here right now. 33 degrees, same with CVG.
Re: Nail Biter Storm 1/24 - 1/26/23
I got question for you guys. this storm gave me 3" of snow but then was quickly washed away by heavy rains. do I count that 3" of snow for my seasonal total or no since it was there and then gone in the same storm. I cant remember what to do, thanks.
22'/23' snowfall > 11"
23'/24' snowfall > 19.5"
23'/24' snowfall > 19.5"
Re: Nail Biter Storm 1/24 - 1/26/23
I would say yes count the snow

Re: Nail Biter Storm 1/24 - 1/26/23
ok thanks guys. I was thinking about it all night and was torn on what would be the correct thing to do. but yeah it did fall and it did accumulate so I guess that makes it official to be counted.
22'/23' snowfall > 11"
23'/24' snowfall > 19.5"
23'/24' snowfall > 19.5"
