Covid-19 Pandemic Discussion
Continue Covid-19 talk in here. Numbers appear to be coming down and some folks have even gotten their vaccines. My folks have had their 1st shot, and will get the second one in about 3-4 weeks. :D Trying to get myself signed up to get the vaccine but it'll be a challenge as everyone is trying to do the same.

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Discussion
I saw yesterday where loads of the Johnson and Johnson vaccines with about 85% effectiveness were being readied for shipment from a warehouse in KY on to sites elsewhere in KY and to IN and OH i.e. etc. More people starting today and onward will be getting those injections. Hopefully sooner than later they'll be available for the 40+ and 50+ age brackets.
My folks got their 2nd dose of the Pfizer one this past Thurs.

My Mom's older sister, my Aunt Carol here in Greenville, who has asthma, hasn't been feeling well after she received a 2nd dose of the Moderna vaccine. She started having shortness of breath this past Sun morning and is still feeling bad today. She turned 83 on Feb 13th.
Please keep her in your prayers.

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Discussion
Texas Governor announced they will be going away from mandatory mask wearing . Have no problem with decision because he's leaving it to businesses to make their own policies and its already morphed into that in many states across the country, IMO. When I went to Florida 6 weeks ago thats pretty much how it was already. Restaurants were packed like yesteryear, you wore a mask in and you wore a mask out, done. I wasn't concerned at all , course I don't watch the MSM either

I finally got my 1st vaccine appointment on 3/18 at 7:30am. So glad KY is following the CDC guidelines for essential workers. Being in IT I am an essential worker so I am part of Phase 1C now.

I'm still not on the eligible list yet here in OH

Ditto with my Brother. Ohio is not following the CDC guidelines so no idea when you or my Brother will be eligible.

Not sure of my vaccine appt status either for the 50+ age bracket. When my folks and myself contact the Family Health bldg where my folks got their Pfizer vaccinations here in Greenville, we get attitude feedback like they don't want to be bothered. Sigh ...

Gov Kristi Noem (R) of South Dakota who spoke at this year's CPAC said that her state has been open and free of restrictions through the whole pandemic. Gov Tate Reeves (R) of Mississippi and even Gov Ned Lamont (D) of Connecticut have reopened their states, too.Bgoney wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 8:27 am Texas Governor announced they will be going away from mandatory mask wearing . Went out to eat Saturday , a well known franchise steak place, and it was packed , every booth, most wore masks in , some didn't , Dewine may not have dropped the mandate but its obvious out my way ,people are over it .

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Discussion
Watch the testimony on SB22 yesterday on this link:
http://ohiochannel.org/collections/ohio ... -committee
Some VERY eye opening stuff there from Kathryn Huwig of Understanding Ohio's Covid-19 Data. She testified two weeks ago and pointed out the mess that is the Ohio data. In the interim between then and yesterday, Ohio responded, BY HIDING ACCESS to that data.
Great stuff from Fr. Lavery and Dr. Elizabeth Laffay too. And Lisa Keller's testimony about a pizza place struggling to find ways to add seating capacity by adding a patio next to a grease pit. I'm sure the ambiance is wonderful there....
And Lisa Anne with testimony that a store is making people who cannot mask for valid medical reasons push a cart in their store with a big pole and an orange flag so everyone can see the disease carrier coming from two aisles away.

It's hard for me to say this but are we seriously going back to mid-evil and ancient times? These kinds of things happened back then, not in modern society. What a shame...House of Cards wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 10:15 am Watch the testimony on SB22 yesterday on this link:

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Discussion
without devolving too much into a political rant, the disease known as Covid-19 is being used on a worldwide scale to instill a more widespread acceptance of Socialism and in the final analysis this was likely deliberately promoted if not outright engineered and released by the Chinese. Unfortunately when your elected leaders constantly throw money at any pet program they can think of without ever balancing their budgets, you find yourself leveraged by your creditor. When that creditor seeks to knock you off your perch on the world stage because they have rivaling interests, you are very vulnerable to this type of thing. They have a lot more say so over what the US does than our own citizens right now in what our government does. I used to say "This country needs an emeny." but the fact is, this country HAS an enemy, and is in no shape to do anything about it.tron777 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 10:55 amIt's hard for me to say this but are we seriously going back to mid-evil and ancient times? SB22 appears to have passed the Ohio House, however it is concerning that it doesn't currently appear to have a veto-proof majority. I hope that is not the case, because the little tinpot will certainly Veto it.

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Discussion
A restaurant called Do Good and Ministry where my folks, myself, 2 aunts (Mom's sisters), and 2 cousins, one of whom we gave a farewell send off lunch party today in Osgood, OH, eatery employees in that part of Darke Co are doing herd immunity as none were wearing masks. I understand the political football of masking and our party group along with some other customers came to the establishment with masks. I haven't had a vaccine yet but will get my 1st dose of one tomorrow morning here in Greenville. The restaurant staff helps out a particular charity family each month for medical costs through proceeds via the customers.
Had a great time of feasting and fellowship and ordered the Cana Wedding Meal of a baked chicken breast w/ linguini, green bean almondine, cole slaw, and a bread assortment.
My cousin Jazzlyn who has a degree in physical therapy will be moving to Florida on March 26th.
