Hearing thunder, probably down Mike's way, but no downpours here today. Steady light rain all day long with maybe a couple 15 minutes pauses. Two day total now 1.9".

Last round finally wrapped up here. CVG as of 8pm has 0.91" so almost an inch of rain for the entire event. We get a nice break Fri - Weekend with some nice weather! 80s but the humidity isn't bad. Maybe an 89 for Sunday? Too much rain for a 90 imo and an 89 might even be tough. We'll see. 88 would not surprise me. Anyway then some good storm chances return next week every day. Instead of mid and upper 80s, low and mid 80s depending on storm coverage looks like the way to go. Some warmth coming, but the rain is going to win in the end for the first part of June.

Is Tim's hot July and August call... (see 90 degree contest thread here because a lot of calls went this way) coming? No signs of any extended heat or death ridges yet. It absolutely can still happen. But, the longer this pattern holds on, the better off our lawns and gardens will be. :) We'll revisit the idea come mid June to see how the 2nd half goes. Pretty confident the first half is active with a cool down returning as we approach mid month per Bgoney's idea. I still like that idea also and it continues to show up on the guidance.

The heat looks to try and make a rebound after mid month and the tropics may also start to threaten from a W. Caribbean or Gulf perspective. Hey folks... it's not winter but the weather rages on as do we here on AV! Lots to discuss my friends.

Ended up with 6 tenths here total. Just north of me this evening it absolutely poured. I am guessing 1 to 2 inches up there. Muirfield I am sure is flooded. It was a deluge up there too.

Another week of record cold and snows around the world

A severe storm has brought rain and heavy unseasonal snow to parts of New Zealand Canterbury's ski fields this week. As much as 5 m (16.4 feet) of snow fell at the summit of Mt. Hutt between Monday and Tuesday, May 31 and June 1, 2021. The same weather system brought 2 to 3 months' worth of rain to the Canterbury region in just 2 to 3 days.

A snowstorm has been pummeling Ushuaia City in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, since May 24, 2021. According to the Civil Defense, the storm dumped more than 0.5 m (1.6 feet) of snow over the weekend alone, an amount not seen for more than two decades.

India's capital Delhi has seen its coldest June day on record on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, with temperatures plummeting to 17.9 °C (64.2 °F). The city has been on a streak of breaking weather records since August 2020, with at least one major record busted each and every month.

Good Morning and at least we have a few dry days ahead. Today and Saturday look great with probably low 80's today and mid 80's Saturday and Sunday. Sunday will see the humidity start to rise and that is why I am not going any higher than 86 and there will be a chance of a late day storm but will not be widespread. Next week with be the old warm and humid with chances of storms everyday and temps mainly in the mid 80's. Late next week could give us a better chance of a MCS as ridging develops to the west. Of course these are really are to predict until the form the night before and head usually east then southeast.

T-storm chances look pretty good once again just about every day next week. I would imagine some get the shaft on some days and on other days an inch plus can be obtained. No hot, dry and boring weather on the horizon for now. Looks active and the long range GFS shows that MCS potential as well that Tim mentioned this morning.

Good morning Les, I love those late spring/early summer MCS's that you and Tim are mentioning, especially when they hit in the early morning hours at the peak of the low level jet ramping it up. Then we have those nice afternoons.

Good morning, Joe and I agree! :) The storms clear the air out and it's just more refreshing for the rest of the day. 8-)

Past 72 hour rainfall as of 1:00 pm today.....note the bullseye across Preble and NW Butler counties where flooding was observed. You can also see my little over-achiever storm. LOL

Temp wise... low to mid 80s seems to be the standard with lows in the low and mid 60s. Pretty typical for June.

EDIT: I've cut out the upper 80s talk. Too much rain and everything is too lush without a big ridge nearby.
