Wish I had better soil. All I ever see are those little red worms. My Brother's old house up in Warren co... OMG, I can't tell you how many dozen we picked out of his yard. Rarely ever bought crawlers to go fishing back in those days. :lol: Reminded me a lot of my Grandma's yard back in the days when she lived in Detroit.

Les, thanks. The models agree as well for here. Sometimes winter does surprise us though. :)

Definitely! Watching the Lake Michigan connection for a small band of enhanced snow showers for tomorrow. Modeling generally keeps it west / SW of our local area which makes sense based on the projected wind flow. Every once and a while though if the flow is right, My hood / Cincinnati can get in on that, but it's very very rare. We'll all see snow shower activity tomorrow regardless, was just pinpointing where the best location could be for an actual accumulation to take place.

Surface low that Bgoney just posted above is now down to 1002 MB as it tracks NE thru our CWA towards the Columbus area and eventually towards PA. Dry slot will be moving in with rain on the NW side of the low track for our NW counties over towards Dayton.

Once we get by next week's rain makers, the 12Z models so far continue to look optimistic if not by next weekend, then shortly thereafter for wintry weather. As more and more data comes in each day, it is looking more and more possible for that gradient pattern that I talked about to come to fruition. It is definitely a high risk, high reward type of pattern where you must be on the correct side of the thermal boundary to get wintry precip. Otherwise, get out the boats as it'll be more rain on top of what has already fallen (today and what's to come next week). So for flooding purposes, even if you don't like wintry weather, you'd better hope and pray we're on the correct side of the boundary here. Otherwise, it'll be flood talk for some locations in our region.

I did a google search and something like this actually does exist where you can place bets on weather forecasts and weather events occurring as well.

Oh no... A major tornado went through downtown Selma, AL and now a tornado emergency is out ahead of it as it moves NE thru AL at 50 mph. It is still on the ground as of this post destroying whatever is in its path.

EDIT: Latest radar loop for that area:

I need to see that movie. Lol

If my memory serves me right on April 3rd 1974 when we had the Tornado outbreak there was a small tremor in NW Indiana that day. Maybe there's a correlation between pressure drops and weak fault lines? Who knows!

A few stats out west for some mtn resort areas. And what is expected the next 6 days to add on top of that.

Southern Sierra on track for Wettest Winter in the past 40 years..
Southern Sierra has an average of 276% of normal to date with 30 inches of water in snow pack
Southern Sierra is 132% of normal for the entire water year
Bishop is 374% of normal to date with 8.49 inches of water
Bishop is 136% of normal for entire water year which ends September 2023
Mammoth Pass;
Mammoth Pass has 40 inches of water to date.
40 inches is 94% of normal for the entire winter
40 Inches is also 201 % of normal for the date and is ahead precipitation wise of any year on record.
