They are outside of SPC's severe risk today.

Man I looked at radar and shook my head. Dome intact. :(
Dude it's been awful! Hope we can muster up something later or this weekend. I haven't mowed in 2 1/2 weeks.
Saturday looks okay to decent IMO in terms of rainfall. I went with 60% PoPs in my forecast and a 1/5 severe risk. Looks like another opportunity for an MCS or two. Hopefully this time we can score!
Yep! I saw it. ;) I keep on sharing your page my brotha! Now quit hogging my rain and share that with me, will ya?

Isn't it awful? Mike has "King of the domes" in his forum signature. I might be the new king this year.

The new drought update should come out tomorrow morning around this time. I don't even want to look at it.

I just checked the visible satellite and there is some sunshine occurring over our KY SE counties area but for those in the Metro, it's still pretty overcast. Unless that changes here pretty soon, I would not expect widespread coverage this afternoon as we have previously noted. 12Z NAM does the Cincy split showing convection this afternoon being NE and SW of the area. How many times have we seen that? The 12Z HRRR is virtually showing the same thing. For some of us.... we'll have to try again this weekend with Sat afternoon / night offering up the best chance at the moment.

We'll talk about this more once we get closer to July (and get that thread started) but a current blend of the Ensemble Guidance in the longer term shows the ring of fire pattern continuing for the 1st week of July. Then, the heat takes back over sometime during the second week. If this is correct, we will need to cash in over the next 2 or 3 weeks. Good luck to all and may your domes spring a leak!

A few showers exist across the region (very isolated) with the bulk of the activity north of I-70. Looking to our SW at the next MCV, more showers and embedded storms are across ILL, SE MO, and Western KY. Still overcast here in Mason and looking at the SPC mesopage, we are still socked in with cloud cover. Only over SW I does a small area of clearing take place. Thus, our ongoing forecast to downplay severe wx as well as storm coverage for this afternoon and evening continues to look very good in my mind (unfortunately).

Good Afternoon and finally it looks like some rain moving into the local area. Really is a nice cold front for late June and yes plenty of rain spread over a large area but again that does not give many locations the needed rain to help the drought. I thought most folks would end up between .5-1.0 but the way things are shaping up some folks will end up there but not everybody. Good is the rain coming late in the day and hopefully it soaks in some this evening and with a nice couple of days the plants will perk up some though the grass will have more of a problem unless you have been watering the lawn which btw I always tell folks to water their foundation because its much cheaper to replace grass instead of foundation problems.

Looks like we repeat this again over the weekend and in the middle of next week. The southeast ridge each time is trying to bully its way into our area so you are seeing folks to the southeast still getting rather hot before the next round.

How long this last and we will see and though models are showing a big ridge in the central USA I am just waiting to see exactly where the placement is in about 2 weeks or so

I'm not impressed. Looks like just another dust settler to me based on radar minus a few isolated areas.

Good morning all! A nice day in store as we stay in the 80s. Upper 80s tomorrow. Then the humidity roars back in for Sat with the low 90s expected. T-0storm chances will be around in the afternoon and evening but it will be scattered once again. The Dome sure needs to be cracked around here! Sunday will feature clearing skies and lower humidity. Monday looks great! The heat returns by the middle of next week along with t-storm chances once again thru Friday. Right now, God willing, it looks to clear out in time for my party on the 6th as long as the front doesn't get held up.

An extremely rare 30 day stretch of under an inch qpf in May/June at CVG (and probably other areas) already in the books.
