Good Morning and the forecast from yesterday looks good. Talk about the dryness in parts of the southwest and the southern plains. This year the southeast has been okay with rainfall except Florida could use some more rain. The southern plains is the concern as we head deeper into spring. It seems Texas gets a nice drought about every 5 years or so followed by a couple of normal years and then a very wet season followed by a couple more normal ones again. This has been the pattern for the most part for years and yes the year we see the drought is never good but its one that has in the past not lasted more than a year and once in awhile 2 years.
If this happens to be the year of the drought down there then expect some very hot very in that part of the world but also this will expand north and east at times and we will need to watch locally in the coming months.

Good Morning Les and rather normal late March weather. I do expect a really nice warm up late in the week into next weekend. 70's very possible but once we start with the warmer temps the chances for severe weather goes up. This year with the way things are shaping up April looks to be very busy in the severe department.

I agree Tim. I also expect a warm up come April as the trough sets up over AK and the Western States. Should see a +EPO / -PNA combo which should mean severe wx chances for the Plains, Lakes, and OV.

Good Morning and yes a nice day for the ducks. With a warm front to our south warm moist air will flow over the front and a steady rain should start later this morning. Folks closer to I-64 may get a break from the rain as they could no doubt be south of the front later today. This evening a cold front arrives with a band of stronger storms though not seeing anything severe and this can bring an hour or two of heavier rain. Totals should be near the 1/2 inch mark locally but with the final round some sports may add another quick 1/4 inch. Not expecting any flooding as we ease into the spring season.

Good morning all! Nice post Tim. Your thoughts have us covered nicely with this next system. Rain showers are knocking on our door step. Only in the 30s right now so it'll be a chilly rain at that.

Good Morning Les and yes a chilly rain and would not be surprised someone gets a flake or sleet pellet mixed in at first but 99.9 % liquid. My son is expecting another 3-6 inches in his neck of the woods. Still below normal in terms of snowfall but no doubt putting a dent in that during March.

I've had some light rain here, but barely enough to wet the ground. The heavier stuff should begin shortly.

It's been all rain here. Was thinking those heavier returns may have ice pellets mixed in. But nope, at least IMBY, it's been all liquid.

Good Morning and a nice dose of rain on Sunday. No doubt the thundershowers late in the day added to the totals. I see the airport over 1 inch. Staying north of the warm front was key in getting a decent rain though folks south did okay with the cold front itself. The upcoming week and looks like the last week of March would normally look. Temps will end up averaging near normal and rainfall as well. Getting a nice start to spring and the rains have been decent but not where we have major flooding. April looks busy as summer tries to take hold in the southern plains and winter wants to stay on in the lakes and northeast. This usually means we are in a good spot to get some decent rain and yes it also raises the chances for severe weather.

Good morning all! CVG had the 2nd wettest March 23rd on record with 1.12" of rain falling. The record still is 1.30" from 1975. Sunny today but very windy. Winds will gust up to 35 mph this afternoon. It won't feel all that warm because of the wind.
We have a good chance to see light rain now on Tues. More scattered Wed afternoon. A dry Thurs, with more rain moving in Fri afternoon and occurring at times for next weekend. In fact, temps will warm into the 70s by Friday and we may have some severe wx to deal with by Sunday. A rare Day 7 Outlook from the SPC already:
