Seeing some brightening skies here and lots of clearing showing on the satellite across southern Indiana into central and western Kentucky. Up to 0.11" now in my hood.

Here is the 5pm Hi-Res model as Trevor mentioned. That one storm goes right up I-75 so could see a couple warnings if this verifies in that 5-6pm timeframe.

In texts to some friends for planning purposes I essentially said this would ultimately happen. The timing and placement of the rain showers off and on today in the metro area was a red flag for future convective development. Like Les, I was also surprised SPC upgraded to slight. Such is the way of the game with storms. At least today is less active than a year ago today when the area got blasted with intense damaging winds and many, many spin ups.

MD from April 8 last year...

A marginal risk in place this afternoon and evening from the river on north. Only expecting a slim chance down here. Most of KY should remain dry. Tomorrow all locations get in on rain and t-storm activity.

Les, enjoy and have a safe trip. Get some walleye as it's good blackened on the grill.

Going to have a fire pit going on tonight with some brews and snacks. Hopefully we won't have a passing shower this evening?

Ooof the south is in for some big time storms this afternoon and tonight. Tornadoes, large to giant hail, and destructive SL winds.

With that line so close to a rich moisture source, no reason to believe this thing won’t keep on trucking through tomorrow morning and beyond. Derecho classification when all is said and done? It’s looking more and more likely. Yikes...

Nothing yet today but skies darkening to my North and west as I pack and get everything ready. Planning on leaving around 7am. Going to try and get in a few hours before it rains.

My gauge picked up a tenth yesterday. Earlier this afternoon had a brief t-shower with at least one flash of lightning that I noticed (don't have an official lightning counter app, yet). Checked my gauge earlier from today and not even a trace from that t-shower.

Thankful some more showers / t-storms on the way for Sat and some showers Sun. :)

Topped out at 77 here in Greenville today. :sunny: Currently at 72 and progged for around 54 Sat morning.
