Currently looks nice and dry for next Fri e.g. as my folks will be going to Indy for Dad to have an MRI of his brain. He's been having periodic episodes for some time of when his eyes behave strangely like a spinning sensation which last a few seconds or so. He doesn't have any headaches or other symptoms but a bit of nausea after each one.

This is from the station at our farm in Ripley showing where we stand as of now... with an average temp over the past week of 21.4; 33.3 for all of February; and 29.5 as the average for the year. My electric bills at the farm have been running almost 50% higher than last year as it is a heat pump/electric backup system. It has been kind of depressing looking at the smart meter data and seeing what I am paying per day when it gets really cold. The one day that reached 71.1 was glorious (and cheap)! In town, some grass at the edge of the parking lot at my office has been under snow/ice since the big storm in early January as all of the snow was pushed there and it survived the warm up at the beginning of this month. I'm ready for spring and a straight shot to summer would be even better!

Good morning all! Got my home office set up again to start working from home again starting tomorrow. Training is from 9-6, lasts 3 weeks then I'll be working 8-5. It's a Windows 11 roll out project for one of our existing accounts. A temp, thing like 6 months but it keeps me going that much longer.

Anyway, on to the weather and it's a lovely day out there with temps already in the mid to upper 30s across the region. More melting today and one more refreeze tonight before we are above freezing for a bit even at night. Expecting 50s tomorrow thru Wed and maybe even in the low 60s in Wed if the rain is delayed long enough. Wed night into Thurs is looking like the best chance at this time.

Extended range shows one last shot for winter in the March 6-10th period, otherwise after mid month, ensemble guidance shows spring is coming and we are done with the bulk of the snow unless we get a fluke event or something.

What is your seasonal avg? Have you only received 24" so far? Like we are beating you??? That has to be an extremely rare feat too.
my average is 40" so quite a deficit yet. but overall its been a descent winter.

A couple chances for light rain this week as much of the country calms down aside from the west coast. Models range from around .20” - .50” for the week.

Good Morning and back in the saddle once again. Just starting to take a peak at the weather for the remainder of the month and looks rather quiet for the most part with a few chances of light rain. Heading into March and one item that is very common is the wind and as we head towards spring windy days are often and it looks like that is the case starting today.

Good morning and let the thawing out process begin! We should remain above freezing at night now for the upcoming week with 50s during the day, perhaps 60ish on Wed! Wed night is the highest chance for rain this week. Temps are above avg all week long until Sunday with temps drop back to near 40 for the high.

I am still holding out hope for one possible last snow in the March 6-10th period. Otherwise, I think we're done with anything major as the models continue to bring in spring from mid month on. I think our pattern will be turning more stormy and active. Should be a good severe wx season this year IMO.

Yes they took the playbook of a La Nina going to the neutral area. Will it turn out exactly as the maps and no but I am sure some areas will end close to what it shows. Normally we are wet with near normal temps. Just hope we stay in the neutral area for a longer period and not sure what they are showing for the summer into next fall but a quick turnaround to a El Nino could spell another dry period in the summer. Nice to get some decent rains in the spring but if you turn off the faucet this can be bad news.

With a lot of cold air still available from the winter to the north clashing with the warmer air from the south... I am expecting a stormy and active spring. I think we are in ENSO neutral now as the La Nina has weakened so much now. If a Nino can set in later in the year, we may not have a hot and dry summer. The jury is out on that though being this far away,

There's a nice breeze out there, can hear the wind gusting every once and a while from the bedroom window. Temps in the upper 40s now with CVG checking in at 49 degrees per the 12pm reading.

Nice to see the sun though a tad windy at times. This week looks rather easy in terms of a forecast but March could be quite the ride. Still believe we have 2 more chances of some winter type precip involved and the last one will probably be with a bigger storm that changes the pattern to a much milder period. The models tend to be a little milder mid-late month compared to what the mjo predictions are at this point but again waiting until the first week of March to see how those models turn out. Love to see a month with somewhere near 5 inches of rainfall and if we could see that for April-June that is what the doctor ordered.

my early season call was for average snow so I will prob fall short on that, unless I can sumhow manage to get like a foot of snow the first 2 weeks of March.

It isn't looking too promising is it? I only have about a 3-5 day window pegged for the Ohio Valley then I think it's a wrap.

54 today at CVG, 8 degrees above avg! Look for a small rain chance late tonight into tomorrow morning then again late in the day Wed. Wet Wed evening into the overnight then dry end of week and weekend with seasonal temps.

Ground wetter here and CVG , with .04” . Another quick moving chance late tomorrow . Weekly total still looks to be in the .20- .50” range regionally .
