With those temps and dry air It’s a lock the drought area will expand in our region.

100%. D0 should expand to cover more of the area including my hood and we'll see the D1 and D2 areas gain some ground too. It's going to be a while in regards to the area getting out of it. The tropics are never a guarantee and with the way this season is going, I wouldn't bet on it. Although I still am expecting a Gulf system in the 1st week of September so there's that (assuming it develops lol).

Hi Jacob,

A few minutes ago I went to your FB wx site and registered for hopeful membership. :) I grew up in the Mt. Airy, N. College Hill, and Oakley areas of Cincy. :) The Super Outbreak of April 3rd, 1974 is one of the events that sparked my interest in meteorology and storm tracking e.g. I was 11 yrs old during that particular event and resided in Oakley at the time. Thankfully was no damage / destruction in the immediate Oakley area but remember listening to my Dad's transistor radio with updates from Sayler Park, Western Hills, Bridgetown etc.

Though we are in for hopefully the last stretch of hot weather there is signs by Labor Day Weekend we will once again cool down like we have a few times in August. We may end up going from 6-10 degrees above normal next week and then go 6-10 degrees below week for several days. Bad part we may get this without much rainfall. Tropics are still quiet which is a shock I am sure to some of the folks who predicted a record tropical season.

Hey Tim,

Concerned re rainfall and potential lack of substantial amounts but the cool down flip side will be nice for Bocce ball and golf games e.g. etc. ;)

Hey Eric, hope you and your family are doing well. About a week of heat and hopefully we can call it quits on the real nasty heat. This will be a drier heat so but anytime you get above 90 its still hot. No doubt we can use rain and besides a scattered shower or two middle and end of next week not much happening. Bocce ball and golf will be much more enjoyable once the temps get below 80

Hi Tim,

We're all doing well and hope that you and yours are, too, bro. :) Looking forward of course to any rain chances and my neighborhood Bocce ball league games start the week of Labor Day so those below 80 readings will be great! :thumbupright:

Good morning everyone! Today will begin our streak of 90 degree heat that will last thru most of next week. Rain chances continue to look slim until we get towards Friday of next week. So in short, not much change to the ongoing forecast. As far as Labor Day weekend goes (which will kick off the new September thread here pretty soon), that will depend on how quickly the front moves thru. It could be warm, humid, with a chance of storms or if the GFS is right cooler and more pleasant should the front work its way thru. This heat wave is going to be slow to break down so I'm not so sure that the front will have enough strength. We shall see!

Good Morning Les and great forecast. Normally I would have the cold front taking its old time especially if we had some tropical development in the Atlantic or GOM. So far that is not the case and with a decent shot of cool air I expect it to come through next weekend leading to another period of cooler than normal weather. Strange August to some extent and though rainfall is lacking the overall temp has been near normal and will probably go to slightly above normal with the 90's next week. Still the Humidity should not get out of hand and maybe mid-60's dews at some point but not seeing the 70 or above.

How hot will it get in the next 7 days and I believe we have a chance to get between 95-97. Don't believe we hit 100 but with the drier heat temps can rise quickly and by mid-week the lows may only be in the low 70's so a 25 degree rise gets us to that point. I believe it will be the hottest day this summer either Tuesday or Wednesday though I still believe dew points will not get out of hand so the heat index may only be 100-105 which is plenty hot in itself

Tim... I originally was going with 92 or 93 but with the ground being so dry, mid 90s are absolutely on the table. We'll have to see how high the dewpoint gets as that will also be a factor.

Just got done watering the plants outside and even though the humidity isn't horrible yet, you can sure feel the warmth building. Ugh... It's going to be a cooker for Colton's football game at 12:40pm. It's his birthday today so after the game we are going to Texas Roadhouse to eat. It was his idea lol Sometimes, you would think that he is my kid instead of my Brothers'

Hi Les,

Happy Birthday to Colton and time sure does fly by fast seeing the kids grow up! :balloons: :birthday: :birthdaymulticolor: :cake: 8-)

Hopefully he and his team can get a birthday win present for him! 8-) How old is he today? :)

When my folks and I resided in north Raleigh, NC there was a Texas Roadhouse nearby in Wake Forest and we enjoyed eating there on occasion. :)
