Is this a weather balloon? Sorry it's so far away. I didn't know what forum to post it in. Please move it if you need to.

So... March, will we get all the snowstorms that should have happened in January? LOL! I told a recent transplant from the South that January thinks it's March and April thinks it's January.

You just never know! We can see anything. 80s like in 2012 or snow and the 20s like in 2008. March can be a very interesting month from a snow and severe wx standpoint.

It might be. NWS does have an office in Key West.

15 this morning as expected due to the snowpack, clear skies, and light winds. The snow will take a big hit today with sunshine and SW winds gusting to 30 mph this afternoon. U30s to the L40s are expected for most areas.

The weather for next week is quiet with a warming trend. Expecting 50 for Pres Day (after another very cold morning), then the 50s for Tues, near 60 Wed, and back into the 50s on Thurs. Rain moves in by Thurs afternoon and ends overnight. That is our next system to deal with. Thinking 0.25 to 0.50" rainfall amounts at this time. Then a nice weekend on tap. Then we close February out with more rainy / stormy conditions.

Watching the signal for well above normal temps and possible severe thunderstorms as we close out the month.

Certainly looks interesting for active weather at least for the central part of the country. It’s the first time all season I’ve seen the polar jet with any kind of meat to it showing up in the long range, even showing it with more strength than the STJ at day 10. Should make for some potent cutters for the mid section of country for that time period

I agree. A deep -PNA appears to be coming with a trough out West and a ridge for The East Coast. Perfect set up for Plains Severe wx and perhaps the OV too.

Activity has died off considerably in phase 8 , and to a lesser degree in 6/7 where most tropical activity remains

As of 2/16 it's still in Phase 7 per the Aussies and diving towards the neutral circle.

The Fantasy 12Z GFS long term today has a classic late winter / early spring pattern. We get the advancing warm front on Feb 28-th, then the cold front on Leap Year Day. 3/3 a clipper passes thru.

Well Les. We had one day of snow cover. I guess it’s better than 0 days of snow cover. Still pathetic, but the snow gods seemed to have turned their backs on us.

I still blame Jason and his snowblower. lol The day he showed the world that snowblower was the day it all went bad for us. lol

If you read this Jason, I’m just kidding ….lol

Watching Thu for a sneaky strong t’storm threat. Nothing major but isolated small hail and gusty winds possible.

00z GFS advertising quite a large multi-day severe weather outbreak a week from Tuesday. Also something to watch.
