Quiet a bit of on and off rains since last evening. Been seeing some light to mod rain this morning as well. As of 8am, 0.74" event total at CVG thus far. 0.84" at the Boone Co mesonet site and I'm in that range also locally imby.

Radar shows a break coming west of the I-712 corridor while rain continues along and to the East. The break will be short lived as more storms have already fired up over S. ILL and we'll need to watch those for later on this afternoon. Looks like an on and off wet day for some areas and cloudy skies for others.

The dome has broken here. Not positive on the amount for a I watered the flowers close to the gauge and may have gotten water in it. Had a few good down pours here this morning. And it has started once again.

More cold news you won’t hear on MSM. Near record cold across South Africa:

“Cold spell in South Africa:Temperatures dropped to near freezing in the usually mild Port Elizabeth:+1.8C today (3 days ago the town surged to 31.6C),the all time record is -0.5C. In the next few days South Africa will experience a harsh cold spell with heavy frost.”

Hey Bgoney, another 1.44 inches and still have a mist going on. Seems like with this kind of pattern I do well. I need to take pics of my lawn later today and it looks like Ireland.

I dumped the gauge about 10am. Just checked it. Got 6 tenths in it. I will call this a million dollar rain for my area.

Up to 1.4 since 10 am. AFter looking at weather underground I am pretty confident I am over the 2 inch mark since this started early this morning. Areal flood advisory is out as well. I would say the dome is broken as of this afternoon.

Scattered showers / t-showers persist this afternoon. Locally heavy downpours possible but nothing really severe and they are hit or miss.

The stronger action should be firing in that area, with my area getting stratiform rain / clipped. Couple of tame cells E of Hillsboro and Chillicothe. 1000-1500 J/KG of CAPE for most folks and bulk shear of 39 knots. Should be enough along with a disturbance to get things going later. Convective temp is 82 today. 78 here and 77 at CVG so we'll see if we can make it. Not so sure.

Radar is pretty tame for the moment. Partly sunny skies over parts of the area as the upper low spins over St. Louis. We're on the front side so still some weak shear and lift as we try and get into the low 80s. 79 at CVG, and the same in my hood.

81 at CVG today, 80 here. Nice evening to fire up the grill as we await to see how the evening goes into the overnight hours. Currently most of the action is too the west closer to the upper low over MO and ILL.
