The final total here was 3”. I sent it to NWS many hours ago, so they have an LSR for it.

Seeing some 18"+ reports coming out of NW IN from Lake Effect. Wow... I would love to be able to witness that!

Could be some blowing snow later today and those wind chills back below zero overnight. Love snow but the wind chill maybe not so much

Agreed Tim... I'm only a fan of the wind when it's 90 degrees (which never happens then when we need it LOL)

Re: January 18-19th Accumulating Snow Threat
Just got done shoveling. Going to put down 3.5" for this event IMBY. That puts my seasonal total close to the 5" mark. I will update our CVG contest thread once the 5pm climate report comes out here shortly.
17 degrees now and at CVG the last time I checked. Radar showing a nice LES plume off of Lake Michigan with some snow showers down towards IND. Another batch of flurries and snow showers SE of DAY and SW of CMH in a Springfield to Hillsboro, OH zone.

3.8" officially at CVG for the event total.
Re: January 18-19th Accumulating Snow Threat
KDAY officially received 1.9 inches today and .3 inches yesterday for a storm total of 2.2
.12 inches of precip for that 1.9 inches of snow. Pretty high ratio.

Looks like an awesome time, Mollie!
That scene in the movie "Elf" where Buddy and his long lost bro Michael are at the park and with velocity force, Buddy nails those other boys like a batting cage machine!
Currently 16 here in G'ville and progged for around 5 on Sat morning.

A complete listing of snowfall totals from ILN can be found here:
https://www.weather.gov/iln/20240119
Expecting single digits tonight... teens maybe 20 tomorrow . Could see a few flurries and snow showers tonight into tomorrow as well. Then we go below zero for Sunday morning with clear skies and light winds. Mid to U20s Sunday with sunshine!

Re: January 18-19th Accumulating Snow Threat
An update from the boys as of 6:50pm.
.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM SATURDAY MORNING/...
Periods of snow showers will continue through the late
afternoon east of I-75 as we observe some minor breaks in the
clouds, steepening low level lapse rates. These snow showers
will lead to reduced visibilities and light accumulations of
primarily a few tenths of an inch, but some locations could
observe a half inch or so in the heavier bands. Latest radar
trends have shown a little bit of a weakening trend with the
lingering snow showers as we approach the mid-afternoon hours,
so expecting this trend to continue as we head into the evening.
However, given the continued snow shower development, have
continued the Winter Weather Advisory for counties mainly east
of I-75 as additional travel impacts can be expected. The
Advisory was canceled for our western counties where these snow
showers no longer exist, which does include the Cincy metro.
Hi-res models continue to initialize moisture advection from
Lake Michigan into our region with the northwesterly flow
pattern. How much of this moisture truly gets here is uncertain
as 850mb winds aren`t overly impressive for observing a great
lake enhanced snow band, but could certainly see some
resemblance of this feature overnight. Thus, continue to
highlight the potential for light snow accumulations overnight
for portions of central and west-central OH. Roads may also
remain slick from any melting/refreezing that may occur from the
earlier snowfall, so use extra caution if traveling.
Sub-zero wind chills expected across the entire CWA tonight as
an Arctic air mass builds in. Locations where the Wind Chill
Advisory is issued have the best chance to observe wind chill
values of -10 degrees or less.

Re: January 18-19th Accumulating Snow Threat
Picked up an additional inch overnight from snow showers. That’d put my total at 4” for the whole thing combined.

Re: January 18-19th Accumulating Snow Threat
I picked up another covering also. That should put me at almost 4".
Re: January 18-19th Accumulating Snow Threat
Good! The snow shower coverage was def better from downtown and points east/north.

Re: January 18-19th Accumulating Snow Threat
It looks like we added another 1/4-1/2” here overnight from the lake effect.
Re: January 18-19th Accumulating Snow Threat
Good morning. Measured 2.5 inches of snow yesterday.
Had more snow overnight as well, not sure how much yet?
Woke up to 1 degree. Put out a 3rd heat lamp
In the barn. Chickens are not a fan of the extreme cold
Or snow. Need to replenish my wood supply at the house
Have been burning nonstop for about a week now. Life is
