75 was it fur today at CVG. Love that north breeze! It helps keep the beer cold you know lol. Picked some fresh beans the other day and picked some more tomatoes a few mins ago. I sure do love my garden veggies!!! Going to grill some spam on a low fire so it can pick up some smoke. Melt some cheese on it. Yummy!!!

Re: August 2023 Weather Discussion
57 here this morning for our last day of Aug. Expecting another beauty with highs in the upper 70s!
EDIT: CVG dropped to 56 this morning. Also, I was watching the 6am news this morning and at that time, Connersville, IN had dropped down to 49! I am sure there were several upper 40s out there if I had the time to look.

Re: August 2023 Weather Discussion
What a beautiful fall morning lol. I agree Les that several upper 40's were in the cards last night and probably tonight. Temps may stay in the low 70's as the cloud deck hangs around somewhat longer plus the sun angle is not quite as high so it can take several hours before we get full sun.
August will end up below normal on temps but barely and quite a bit below normal with rainfall. Still for the year near normal on precip and slightly above normal on temps so nothing unusual this year.

Re: August 2023 Weather Discussion
Good morning Tim! Thru 8/30 at CVG, we were only 0.3 degrees below normal. Tack on today's below normal temps and we should end up a half of a degree below normal. If it weren't for that last bout of 90s, it definitely would have been more below normal in the stats. Precip wise, we will end August around 1.6" below normal. For the year, after today, we are about a half inch below normal. Individual location results will vary as you know.

Re: August 2023 Weather Discussion
Tim - Good call on going a touch lower then me for today. Instead of the upper 70s, the mid 70s maybe all we can do thanks to the clouds earlier this morning. Full on sunshine now but will it be enough? CVG is at 71 as of the 1pm reading.

76 now at CVG as of the 4pm reading. Maybe 77 at the most IMO for the high today, which is right in between my forecast and Tim's.

Yes Eric that may have been the same year it was nearly 90 here and I think i may have even gotten a little sun burnt that day because I remember I was doing work on the back porch. this entire week is a blow torch something we havent even seen all summer and now it has to happen in September just ridiculousMVWxObserver wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2023 10:27 amHi Charles,airwolf76 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2023 4:38 am long range showing well above avg temps as we go into September. yuck ! mid to upper 80s all next week. sumhow I knew this was gonna happen since most this entire summer was below avg and now as we get closer to fall summer is gonna set in and its going to end up hot in Sept and Oct. i think it was just 3 or 4 years ago it was almost 90 in early Oct here. patterns always shift and change so expect to see dry and above avg temps as we get into Sept
I remember a family reunion in early Oct 2019 in Indiana and it was in the low 90s. Was weird and wild in T-shirts and shorts for sure that time of year.

It looks though that towards the end of this week and into the weekend onward much more near normal temps for this time of year which will be wonderful.
