CVG 90 Degree Day Contest 2021

Good evening all!

It is that time of year again when we're in spring mode but the heat of summer is lurking off in the distance. The annual CVG 90 degree contest is back! Do you think it'll be a hot summer or a cool one? Maybe normal? CVG averages (21) 90 degree days in a season.

Please get your guesses in by Monday, May 31 at 12am EDT. The contest runs from June 1st thru Sept 30th. Only 90 degree day highs and above during those months will be counted as part of the contest. We are also bringing back the BONUS CVG got 89'ed! part of the contest so enter your number of days there as well. That will be used in the event of a tie breaker.

How to change though I still believe the middle of summer is going to be hot. The continued trough in the south central states is the unknown and how long it lasts but to have 2 cold fronts hit the gom in late May is not common. So if we continue to have weakness in the central USA then we get heat from the southeast as Florida has been dry all year and much of the southeast has got much drier in the last month. Problem is the first half of June looks wet and again the more vegetation the harder it is to stay hot for an extended time period. I may still be to warm but I have seen big turnarounds in the pattern before and hope I am dead wrong on this summer

Hey Les I hope I am dead wrong but I see signs of much drier weather in the southeast and also here locally. If June is wet then my forecast will be a bust but a drier June then I believe hot is the way to go. These contests are always fun and usually I finish in last place lol.

It is quite possible. We def need to start picking it up in the rainfall dept that is for sure. The next 3 weeks are going to be very key on this.
