82 here today, felt much warmer thanks to the humidity. Just a few hundredths with the downpours here and at CVG for rainfall. 83 at CVG for the high officially.

Must be summer time - downpour missed a half mile to the west and now one looks to miss to my east! LOL

Good Morning and a band of showers with some heavy rains at times moving towards the tri-state. The GOM is wide open with very humid and moist air so getting some heavy rain at times makes sense. Again the pattern is one where there is a good chance every day to see some rain but it will not rain all the time but when it does the downpours can add up quickly. Mowing will be touch and go and we are in a period where 2 times a week seems likely.

Summed it up nicely Tim, best coverage today will be with the current cluster , and then widely scattered the rest of today. Showers are moving quickly about 30mph so downpours of 10 or 15 min should be it in the heavier pockets. Still like wed afternoon through Friday for the best coverage and amounts

Been getting some very heavy downpours here this morning esp the last 20 mins or so. Will check my station shortly and report an amount. It looks like we've got a daily shot for rain / storms thru Sat. You guys know the drill. Some days are going to be wet and some not so much.

Was watching Local 12 this morning before I started working and they were going with 2-3" area wide from today thru Saturday for totals. That wouldn't surprise me one bit if not even higher. CVG is almost half way to that 2" mark already.

Nice to see the rain for many folks though if you lived not that far west or east of CVG you may have gotten little in rain bucket and that is how most of the week will play out unless we get a little disturbance to help in a more widespread event. Places that got rainfall this morning will have an easier time this afternoon of getting another shower as the moisture is drawn from the ground and with help from the sun can also aid in development. Saying that anybody can get a quick flare up and usually the afternoon type storms move very little so you may get hit hard and 5 miles away nothing. That is why rainfall totals this week are just almost impossible to figure out and though 1-2 inches seems the best guess but some folks may get 1/4 of an inch and others over 3 inches.

BG's video showed the rainfall distribution very well this morning. That is exactly what is happening as Tim has also mentioned this morning. You could see the rain get enhanced as it moved towards NKY and Cincy. Then it weakened slightly for the Dayton and Columbus Metros, but still a 1/2 to 3/4" in a narrow corridor is possible this morning.

Good Afternoon and the morning rains sort of cleared the atmosphere for a bit but with this tropical air mass it can ramp up rather quickly. Starting to see some pop-up showers near the Louisville area. Lets see if these become somewhat stronger and if they have any movement to the north/northeast over the next few hours.

Radar fairly quiet for our area for the evening. I like best chance for coverage tomorrow in the morning much like today. Heaviest for NK and SE IN and slightly weakening as the cluster moves into OH and again more isolated in the afternoon. Wednesday and Thursday still look to me to be the highest chance for rain and best coverage for the region.

The way things are going, the lawn for me will be a foot tall by the time I get to it due to all the rain. I should have mowed Sat, but instead went fishing with my brother and the kids. Oh well... life is more important and I still feel I made the correct call. :)

Euro this afternoon shows the highest chances for CVG Land coming in the afternoon hours with lower morning chances. But models are all models and the timing as we know usually is not that good. The main low is still well down in TX and ARK and it will only slowly lift to the NE as time goes on. The next piece of energy is slowly moving NNE and it's over ILL and West KY. I would say late night or early in the morning is a fine call. Timing may actually be very similar to what we had today. So that should allow for only scattered activity tomorrow afternoon if the timing happens to work out like it did today. We shall see.
