Rain in oxtown. Temps starting to drop from a high of 43 at 6, now down to 41. .13” of rain so far. For the first time in 29 years, I am not stressing and prepping plow trucks. Turned the outside lights on, poured a nice bourbon, just going to kick back and let it happen. Retirement from snow plowing is awesome!

i don't like you. lol But am envy of you. The stress level is off the charts. Got one plow working the other is not. At least i can use my bulk spreader.

If you look at the radar, you're thinking to yourself man, that is not a very wide band of snow! You're right... But what's going to happen is once that phasing begins and this system really gets going, that band will slow and pivot before moving off to the NE by morning as the trough continues to go negative tilt and deepen. If you are in that band of snow when it slows and pivots, you will overachieve. That is what is going to happen. Modeling IMO has it right along the I-71 Corridor thru the heart of the Metro and AV Country. Reality says??? We'll find out tonight.

Precisely what we just talked about. Good chance some of the best totals across the tri-state focus in the vicinity of 71.

18Z Euro continues to look great and continues the above theme. Along the I-71 corridor and throughout much of Central and Northern KY several rows of counties on either side of I-75 is the bullseye zone for our coverage area, This above process is forecast to happen over us if the guidance is correct. We'll see!

And as Les alluded to, expect a rather rapid increase in radar coverage over the next few hours. Again this will be a quick hit, but him and I discussed the potential for 1-2”/hr rates for a time. Things will stack up fast, but will also blow around a lot so as several of us have discussed, backyard measurements will not tell the tale.

I had to name our thread White Christmas Blizzard 2022! Odds on ILN pulling out the Blizzard Warning tonight, first time since March of 2008? The data is showing a blizzard tonight and tomorrow. Even without snow falling at times tomorrow (other times there will be) the winds will be strong 40-50 mph gusts sustained 20-30 IMO for a while... blowing and drifting snow will be awful. If we overachieve and get that 6"... Remember, the amount of snow that falls has nothing to do with the criteria. It's the wind and powdery nature of the snow more then anything and we've got both due to very cold temps and a deepening cyclone. I mean come on... we're shut down. Blizzard warnings should be issued for this system IMHO! Trev, talk to your Guy!
