Re-posted since the Aug thread is on a new page and I wanted to make sure Tim saw this.tron777 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 2:56 pmI had some time this afternoon Tim to perform this research. Below are the Top Ten wettest Augusts at CVG and the number of tropical systems which brought rain to our area. Again, this is only for August. No other months are in the below totals. Also of note, the below years are ranked correctly from 1 being the wettest to number 10 on the list. So 1879 was the wettest Aug on record and you can see why.tpweather wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 9:55 am I believe my total was below the normal for August lol. Be fun to find out about those top 10 wettest August if there was a tropical system in those years that moved nearby. My guess is probably more than 50p/c of them had some form of a tropical system move its way through the Ohio Valley.
1879 - 2
2018 - 1
1888 - 1
1982 - 0
1926 - 0
1876 - 0
2005 - 1
1954 - 0
1920 - 0
1921 - 0
2022 is now #3 on the list (1921 drops off) which of course has zero.
Also Tim, you mentioned that we saw tropical activity in Aug on the Top Ten wettest Aug list about 50% of the time. We had 4 out of 10 that had Aug tropical remnants impacting our area or about 40% of the time. So your guess was virtually spot on!
I found the above info using the site below. It has storm archive information for the Atlantic and Pacific basins including tropical cyclone statements and track maps! Add this to your weather bag of goodies!

No problem! I was curious about it myself when you brought it up. I just had to find the time to do it, which thankfully I did!

Re: August 2022 Weather Discussion
Yes Sir! I'm about done with the 80s and humidity though which unfortunately, we have much more of that to come. I know I am rushing it but I am seriously ready for 60s and 70s for highs and 40s and 50s for lows. If it's not winter, those are my ideal temps for the rest of the year lol
