I do try to stay optimistic...but when this happens time after time after time it almost becomes routine.

I've had some Dome Years too! Even as wet as it was last summer for parts of the area, my lawn needed watering from about mid July on until the wetter and cooler wx returned in the Fall. Those PM pop up storms almost always miss my hood when we get into the hot, humid, summery patterns like that. This is usually how it goes IMBY 9 times out of 10 in the summer. So far this year, I'm off and running very nicely, but will it last? Probably not.

Wish I could share the wealth with you Mike. I am a greedy SOB when it comes to snow but I will gladly share some rain. :)

Models continue to battle it out for next week. When does the front come thru to end the heat? Wed, Thurs, or as late as Fri? All options are on the table a week out of course. The last couple of GFS and Euro runs wanted to end it on Thurs. The 12Z GFS just coming out now is also showing the front coming in on Thurs. After today... sometime during the later portion of next week looks to be our next rain opportunity. Should be some nice weather for Holiday action this weekend though. Cloudy to start on Sat but otherwise there should be any issues.

A heavy shower occurring here now thanks to the upper low. We will continue to see downpours... maybe some small hail, then sunny. Rinse and repeat.

EDIT: It won't last long but this shower is def more impressive then anything I got all day yesterday, just a shorter duration. The rainfall is short lived but very intense with these things. Even some gusty winds to 25 as an added bonus.

Wow, definitely seeing an array of weather today going from sunny to these crazy downpours with some hail...rinse and repeat! Temp going from 65 to 58 back to 65 and then 58 again. This will be my second downpour so far for the day and more to come. I'm actually enjoying this working from home! Lol

Sun's back out again here. I was as cool as 59 earlier when I had that nice downpour I posted on... Had one more smaller one after that. Temp since the sun has been out for a bit now has risen back up to 65.

As the event wraps up, 2.5" has fallen. Standing water everywhere. Can certainly use the upcoming dry stretch.

Good morning all! Happy Memorial Fay to you all! U80s today and tomorrow. We will see if an 89 can get in there. I'll be shocked now if we do hit 90. T-storms Wed with a cold front along with a marg. risk of severe wx. Cooler and less humid with the 70s after that, Low 80s by late next weekend.

Good Morning Les and been busy going between places. May has been wild and locally we have got hit big time with rains. Many areas in the Ohio Valley had got rain but not to the extent we have here. The good thing is rains have fallen over the northern and central plains as well and this will no doubt keep any heat waves over the next couple of weeks. There does seem that the southern plains will start to bake and that could be the first true longer term heat wave to develop this season. Of course the heat will try and push this way but plenty of resistance is expected. Next week looks like another battle zone for our area and if we get another 1-3 during the week you can throw out any longer term heat. The lawn looks wonderful this season and I even put down some grass seed that I normally wait until fall but it has turned out great for once lol.BTW Greenville got hit big time with rain last week as well with over 4 inches in a 2 day span.
