Looks like there might be some totals approaching 2” in highland/Clinton counties

I wish I could have located my gauge for a system like this e.g. but the inside of our garage currently looks like a Fred and Lamont "junkyard." ;)

Currently 50 here in G'ville and just 1 degree shy of the ILN progged high.

Next wave ready to attach the local area. Should be a wet late afternoon and evening. Then another wave keeps the rain going overnight. Still expecting between 0.75-1.25 more before the rain ends.

Light rain has moved back into the area. Radar shows a few moderate pockets embedded in the rain shield. A wet night and Monday morning ahead... We'll see what the final totals look like tomorrow. I would imagine a few folks get to that 2" mark.

Good morning all! Just a little more light rain to go and then it's just cold. Our daytime high is actually this morning then we will fall thru the 40s this afternoon and eventually into the mid and upper 20s by tomorrow morning and thus the freeze warnings that are out.

Event Totals as of 8am:

CVG - 1.87"
Me - 1.97"
Boone Co Mesonet - 2.06"

Then a few snow showers for the kiddies tomorrow evening and that should be it for Rocktober!

Good Morning and looks like I missed the prediction of heavier rain late yesterday into the overnight and only 0.56 fell but sill great news in getting rid of the short-term drought. Here in Wausau the temp is 23 and probably will not break the freezing mark this afternoon. Models and mets are looking at 1-2 inches of snow overnight until around noon on Tuesday. Hopefully I will be able to take some pics. Leaving Wednesday so timing is perfect and will not have to deal with the roads. Even up here the 1-2 inches is important and mainly because its the first snow of the season.

Awesome Tim! I sure hope that comes to fruition up there for you. :) At least we are below avg in temps down here even when you return.

Awesome Bgoney!!! So glad that your hood was able to cash in with this event. Wow@ the Indian Hill total! :)

The colder air is coming... temps in Western KY are in the U30s to L40s at this time.

Wonderful map Bgoney. This fall has seemed a little different than many of the past 10 years or so. Getting colder air to cover more of the mainland USA is the big difference. Some of the years getting frost in the southern plains and gulf states was not easy until December. Does this make a difference in my winter forecast and yes and hopefully will be out by mid-November. I try and get it out by then because locally mid-Nov - mid March is usually the best shots of winter weather around here.

12Z HRRR shows a line of snow showers coming thru tomorrow evening. NAM and GFS are not that impressive. 12Z RGEM supports the HRRR's solution. So the short term mesoscale models seem to be onboard with first flakes for many posters while the global models not so much. The chance is there IMO as this vort max is pretty potent.

Where should I go on the NWS ILN page for rainfall totals in Darke County e.g.? :) Greenville preferably. ;)

My gauge is MIA somewhere in our Fred and Lamont "junkyard" garage.

Currently 41 here in G'ville and progged to top out around 44.

Go here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/Climate?wfo=iln Click on the NOWDATA tab and select Greenville WP, Ohio from the location box. In the next box select the product you want.
