Japan PM assassinated

Prayers and thoughts with Japan as sadly their PM Shinzo Abe, age 67, was assassinated as he was giving a campaign speech Fri morning. 
The shooter is a 41 yr-old Japanese Navy veteran named Tetsuya Yamagami who had a homemade gun and who said he had a grudge against a "specific organization."
The irony is Japan has one of the strictest gun laws in the world. So how the shooter carrying a large homemade gun was able to breech security and get up close to PM Abe without any sort of checks or barrier is a "head scratcher."
