Should be slowing down shortly here so will go out and shovel for the last time before it gets dark, while the snow is still actually falling so I can enjoy it! :) Going to wind up with a 3" total here for the event! :) So thrilled! :)

 - No... we are still going to proceed with that, sorry. Love it when the data is wrong and it occurs for us in a positive way though. Should be lots of folks in that 1-4" range out there! :)

There were hints of it on the 18Z data last night from a couple of models. But I dismissed it as an inch or less and didn't really think anything of it. I thought north of us would get nothing and all the action, what little bit there was would be Cincy on south. The energy had more of a kick to it for sure. Gonna be interesting tonight and tomorrow to watch the East Coast system unfold. Then, we watch next week in our Feb thread. :)

Update from the boys as of an hour ago:

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM SATURDAY MORNING/...
Area of snow over central and southern reaches of CWA will
continue to produce about 3/4"/hr snowfall rates this early
evening. Temperatures were running a little cold compared to
immediate forecast so blended the mesoscale models with a
reasonable forecast and ran that through the overnight period.
This lowered some min temps over southern CWA.

Cloud cover is lifting over northern sections but a light snow
is still falling for most of the area. This will trend downward
this evening from north to south as the region is already
worked over and the moisture gets wrung out from ongoing snow.

Low pressure pulls away from the Ohio Valley tonight as high
pressure begins to build in from the west. Low temperatures will
be coldest in the north, likely reaching a few degrees subzero
in west central Ohio where skies clear earliest. However, based
on lingering northerly winds behind the departing high,
expecting the lowest wind chills in central Ohio... so have
issued a wind chill advisory there. Elsewhere, temperatures
generally drop into the single digits above zero.

Light snow still at CVG as of 8pm. 17 degrees 9 mile vis so it's flurries basically now at this point as things wind down. 16 / 12 imby with flurries.

My preferred free model site added Euro data! I like this site mainly because of the easy slider at the bottom to go through data versus other sites.

This is awesome. I've gradually been using COD more this winter and definitely even more now

Nice! It’s definitely the easiest model site to navigate.
