As has been seen to our west and southwest, the wind potential with this is solid.

No sun here at all Trev, completely overcast and windy. Not a drop of rain yet either. Thanks to that dry air mixing down, that is one reason why the wind potential is still there whether we get any rain or not.

Shoot Tim... I'll have my own yard clean up to do with falling limbs. A nice one just came down from my big old maple tree in the front yard.
Definitely waiting until this passes to put the trash cans out for Fri AM pick up. At least you won't have to pick up any garbage from me in your yard.

And just like that, the clouds and some showers move in with 45 mph gusts at the same time. Ugh, hope the power stays on.

backyard neighbor's hot tub cover just got caught in a gust, destroyed their railing around their patio. Almost total cloud cover here with just one small bright patch. Wids are screaming when they gust...

Glad I got all my outside Christmas decorations down last weekend. They'd be in big trouble today if the lights were still on the eaves.

I finished filling up my curbside cart early this afternoon and have it ready to roll out late this evening for Fri AM pickup. Keep it parked in a corner of the garage.

From the boys as of about 30 mins ago:
.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM FRIDAY MORNING/...
999 mb low pressure driven by a potent 500 mb low is setting the
table for severe weather this afternoon into this evening.
Despite low dew points in the 40s and CAPE only around 250
J/KG, steep low level lapse rates are allowing thunderstorms to
develop. Some storms will tap strong low level jet winds,
possibly resulting in damaging wind gusts in excess of 60 mph.
A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued through 7 pm for
our entire area except for Lewis County KY. Main area of
concern is along and north of I-70 where most favorable pooling
of low level moisture is expected. Storms will depart quickly to
the northeast, following the motion of surface and mid level
troughs.
Strong winds not associated with thunderstorms will push in
behind the thunderstorms, with speeds subsiding below advisory
criteria of 40 knots an hour or two after the thunderstorms
move northeast. Though gusts are expected to fall below advisory
criteria by mid evening, they will remain strong through
tonight with speeds over 30 knots being common. As colder air
filters in later tonight dropping temperatures into the 30s,
scattered rain showers changing to snow showers may then dust
the area by Friday morning.

Cool! I can see a rainbow out there facing north! Top Ten event for this winter.
EDIT: Much like our snow, it was gone in less then 30 seconds. I didn't even have enough time to take a picture.

Looks like we have dodged a bullet for severe storms, but that wind is no joke! Even for folks N of I-70 where the best chance exists, in the next hour or two, even those locations will be in the clear.
