Getting hammered here now - rainfall rate just hit 2.8"/hr briefly so some very intense rates.

Nice soaking this morning and we wait to see if the atmosphere can revamp this afternoon for additional storms. No doubt we should get more rainfall but strong storms will be determined by the atmosphere recovering. We have time for that to happen but will need to see if there is any clearing to the west during the afternoon.

CVG is up to 1.02" for the day now.

One low is moving thru now... so a break is here (or coming if you're still seeing rain) A new low is down in ARK which will arrive this evening with a cold front. Can anything re-develop with this feature later? That is the key to the rest of the day.

At CVG, the 12Z Euro shows an additional 1/2" of rain yet to rain with our current system thru tonight. Let's see what happens!

Thanks Tim! I'll be working but I wanted to fire up the smoker this weekend but with the rain... it isn't looking good. Hope some dry time occurs to perhaps squeeze it in on Saturday. Got some peach wood to burn.

Mike I agree and believe the front is stalled for the most part as we wait for the next piece of energy. Will watch the winds over the next few hours but my guess locally you will see sw winds and then nw and may shift back to sw as the front goes back and forth during the afternoon.

Hopefully those models are out to lunch for that day. ILN currently forecasting upper 60s for down your way, bro.

No matter the temp, a wet Mother's Day looks like a high likelihood at this time. Speaking of which, light rain once again here as another shower cruises thru.

Temp wise, the humidity will be drooping tonight and will be gone thru the weekend. Highs mainly in the 60s over the next week can be expected with lows in the 40s..maybe an occasional 50 thrown in.

Wed - AM Chances - Low
Thurs and Fri - Low PM chances
Sat - Increasing PM chances
Mother's Day into early next week: Likely chances

Kind of how I am seeing things right now. Lots of dry time too as some others have already mentioned. Agree with the continued pattern of low severe threats and mainly heavy rain makers for us. An additional 0.50 to 1.5" of rain from now thru Mother's Day I think is a good call at this point.
