I saw that too Tim but I wasn't sure if they are going to round it up to 4 or stick with 3. CVG may have hit 3 at midnight so that might be what happens. I missed that earlier when I posted.

Les we know they like to round up almost all the time so you are probably correct

You know those NOAA Lake Charles boys couldn’t wait to press that Blizzard Warning button.

I seriously don't blame them. This certainly has a chance to be historical (in modern times) in some of these areas near the coast.

Very impressive storm for the south. Back in the 70's when we had those cold winters I do remember that Miami reported snow in either 77 or 78. Just flurries but pretty wild for that far south.

My brother is down in NOLA now till April and they are expecting 3 inches in the northern suburbs. They just left Cincy when we had our big snow thinking that they escaped the snow and cold, NOT! Ugh!!

I second that. It's an absolute white out S of Baton Rouge right now with 1-2" per hour rates.

Another great video by Brian. He spoke of exactly what we talked about on here that the models like we saw last week did a horrible job and one of the reasons is a pattern that occurs seldom and forecasting skills became even more important. Does that mean they are going to have a problem for the weekend and early next week and I say yes until we get the current southern system out to sea. Then the models can readjust hopefully and can at least give us more confidence in trying to provide a decent forecast late in the weekend and early next. I was expecting the overriding event to happen late this week but the arctic air is so widespread that its taking longer to move it out but it will and like Brian mentioned folks down there will be back in the 60's by the weekend with a southerly flow.

12Z GFS continues to show the players on the field. Look at Sunday morning at 120 hours. Low over the SW and moisture moving north out of the Gulf into Texas and AR.
