Radar has scattered storms S and W of the Tri-state at this time. Movement of most cells is to the NE. Temps are in the mid 80s now with dews in the 70s. Heat Index now in the low to mid 90s. That should fuel more storm development as time goes on.

88 as of 3pm at CVG, however Boone Co is located in between 2 lines of storms. We'll see if the one to the west can make it in here to spoil an 89 or a 90 today.

Sorry again! Sun came out, now it's dark again with more thunder. Looks like per radar, that might be it for a while. Bulk of the action is now along and SE of I-71.

It's a storming here. Moderate rain. This should settle the dust a little bit. It was nasty out there today. I am not used to that. :)

I believe a whopping .001 so far today. So close but so far away once again. I have driven across all 3 northern Ky counties and Dearborn county over the past week and the difference in vegetation is wild. Again I have been missed almost every time it rains and I was due for a bad year as several years in a row I kept getting hit with the heaviest of rains. Mother Nature once again trying her best to balance things out.

Good evening all! Rainfall amounts in my neck of the woods are as follows:

Me - 0.19"
CVG - 0.12"
Boone Co Mesonet - 0.16"

The flooding rains missed me which is fine. Sure wish you could get in on something here Tim! Still watching that line NW of us, dropping SE for later on this evening. We'll see what happens with it. I got 89'ed also today. Down to a humid but rain cooled 70 degrees at this time.

Hey Les and maybe up to 0.05. Tons of thunder in the distance and plenty of wind that have knock off more dead leaves. I was looking forward to at least .025 and maybe 0.50 if I got lucky. Really need the rain badly but the end of August I never expect a lot of rainfall. I do believe that models and met's would have a hard time with rainfall amounts because some folks can get 2-3 inches while other's 0.05. No way to get that forecast correct unless you mention anywhere from 0-4 inches. There will be some nicer air coming in but a tad warmer than models showed late last week and we talked about how that may happen. I thought today felt hotter than yesterday and really felt like Florida imo. What happens this weekend may be decided on what happens in the tropics. If we get a system together then the pattern can slow down which may mean a front near us during the holiday weekend. Give it a few more days as there are moving pieces though a lot more slowly then we see in the winter.

Rainfall distribution this summer has been either feast or famine across the country and including our area. No doubt about it. Up to 0.24" here currently. In terms of this weekend, my call is dry until Labor Day when POPS are needed as the Gulf opens up for business. I will change it if need be but for now, that looks good to me.

Les not only feast of famine but having it so close together like Boone and parts of Kenton country are probably 6-8 inches apart this summer. BTW up to a whopping 0.15.

Yeah you're hood and mine being so close together that is crazy the difference in just that short of a distance. We are normally fairly similar in weather but not this summer.
