Have family that live near Tucson AZ and it has been a monsoon for the ages there. So far in July at Tucson, their normal monthly rainfall is 2.04". They have received 7.39"! Lots of flooding has occurred in some areas as well including Phoenix metro.

GFS offers up the best hope with the cut off solution but otherwise, in the next week to 10 days, I just don't see any widespread soaking rainfall for us. The tropics in the Atlantic basin for the moment remains quiet. Hope that fires up later, we could use some help. Day 13 here / CVG and counting with no rain.

12Z Euro has 2 small chances for rain at CVG in the next 10 days. Sat and again Thurs of next week. Otherwise pleasant weather can be expected.

A fierce cold snap brought rare snow, icy rain, and strong winds to parts of southern Brazil on July 29 and 30, 2021. The event comes after several waves of destructive frost since mid-June.

According to weather specialists at Somar Meteorologia, at least 40 cities in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul saw ice while 30 got snow, including Pelotas, São Francisco de Paula, Gramado, Carlos Barbosa, Bagé, Herval, Piratini, Caxias do Sul, Marau, and Farroupilha.
After hitting Rio Grande do Sul, polar air continued moving upwards toward the Sao Paolo metropolis and Minas Gerais -- states known for their vast agricultural fields.

After several waves of destructive frost since mid-June, farmers fear that what's left of essential export crops will suffer yet more damage.

According to Marco Antonio dos Santos from weather consultancy firm Rural Clima, international prices for coffee and sugar have already soared due to unusually cold weather in Brazil.

70 right now and we'll stay in the 70s today for highs thanks to overcast skies. Hopefully we can get a shower tonight. Some of us need it. But chances look slim so probably won't happen.

Don't forget. It's no longer global warming, it's climate change. :)

77 here so far today... not bad for almost August. Dews also down into the upper 50s and lower 60s which is a nice bonus. :)

Light rain coming....maybe the dome will be broken today? Radar looks interesting. Light and weakening but I'll take a tenth to two tenths of an inch if it were to occur.

Update from the boys... seeing some light rain starting up here now.

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/...
Decaying MCS to our west will continue to weaken as it heads
southeast this afternoon. Although light, it looks like there
will be a little more shower activity for parts of the Tri-
State. As a result, I have bumped up PoPs in this region to a
period of likely (60 percent).

Just some light sprinkles. Might not get even a few hundredths, the way it's going. Bark is way worse then its bite on radar.

Just a T here and CVG So basically the dry streak continues. The weakening MCS hit The Dome and that's all she wrote.
