Never saw this but my neighbors grill got blown off the deck and my grill got blown off the patio. These are grills with gas tanks on them. What a storm and the heavy rain continues as I see the nice stream in my yard.

It's getting closer! Extremely heavy rain about 5 miles to my south now. Hope it can hang on and get up here! :)

No thunder at the moment but the rain continues to come down hard. Once the storm is over I will get my grill if it still is located in the side yard. No worry about any more drought conditions until next year for my yard.

Lot of noise here still along with some decent wind gusts. Light rain trying to get going here... so far I am just getting clipped by this thing. Need it to nudge northward for me to get hit.

2-4" per hour rainfall rates in S Boone and S Kenton counties... WOW! Rain is starting to pick up here a bit now finally. It's starting to edge up a touch this way.

Les I have been on the extreme northern edge and there is more coming this way. Have no ideal what the final amount will be but its going to be in inches and several inches.

I'm not surprised Tim... very impressive rainfall rates if you're under the core of one of these cells. Mod rain here, nothing extremely heavy. Perfect honestly for the lawn. 73 degrees now. 0.12" and counting...

Not a drop - it did thunder and had a big gust of wind once the storm north of me collapsed and pushed all its rain cooled air my way.

Good Morning and the backyard looks like a war zone after the very heavy rain and strong winds. Nearly 6 inches of rain in my backyard. No doubt that the normally drier season which starts in mid-August is anything but dry. The fire department was out during the heavy rains to make sure sewers were able to handle the rain. My guess is about 4 inches the first hour nearly 2 inches the second hour. The first gust of winds took my grill and tossed it around like a rag doll into the side yard. These are localized areas and the storms do not move much and you can see what a full atmosphere can bring down in terms of rainfall. I could use a break but even over the next 2 -3 days a daily chance of storms. Then where do the remains of Ida go and who gets hit with some additional rains.

Mike I wish some of that rain could have made it your way. I have seen it rain that hard before but not 2 straight hours. I know some folks have water in their basements but I live on a hill and drains very well.

Like an Amazon rain forest there in Tim's 'hood!! :thumbupright:

Even though my folks and I have a recently installed back-up system from about 2 or 3 years ago on our property, that much water would probably have overwhelmed that feature, causing at least some minor flooding in our finished basement and not all of it being just plain storm water.

Geez Tim, to say you are a little soggy is an understatement.

Just looked at the 0z runs. I sure hope the gfs is off it's rocker. 3.9 estimated for here from Ida??? I will take the euro for 1000. Or the Canadian for 5000. I guess I should not complain about the rain as some you need it. Some areas around here are a little soggy and need to dry out.
