The LLJ is already kicking in with storms erupting in MO just West of St. Louis. This is the beginnings of the potential late evening / overnight action.

Y’all’s game was cancelled although in my opinion they could have played. Fortunately we were allowed to stay in our party space and had a nice birthday celebration anyway. Awaiting round 2 later…stay safe everyone!

The SPC also issued a moderate risk to our SW over SE MO, S ILL, Western KY, NE AR and Western TN. Per the visible, sunshine will be coming back our way here pretty soon.

Not very impressive so far. Just outside Mason we had 2 short lived rounds, a total of .05" so far. We have been missed on a lot of the rains the past few weeks, as the rain seems to split right as it comes this way. Hope we get a good soaker tonight to help with the plants.

That was the least impressive severe line of storms. .4" of rain, no wind, little bit of thunder and no hail. Right now,I am at 68 and heavy cloud deck here in N. Butler Co.

Just my opinion here folks, but we didn't have a lot of bulk shear which is needed to promote storm organization. Note as the storms moved in they weakened quickly and thus the disappointment and lack of heavy rainfall. However, I think this evening into the overnight, will be a different story. There is still plenty of daylight left and sunshine is knocking on our door step off to the West per visible satellite. SB CAPE and DCAPE are also recovering nicely to our West where the sunshine has already been occurring for the last hour or two. Mid level lapse rates are also rebounding over Indiana. We've got the bulk shear now too. 45-55 knots depending on your location and even a few pockets of 60 knots to our West / SW. The LLJ continues to kick in ahead of the surface low over MO and ILL. Severe t-storms continue to develop over MO now spreading into ILL. I understand that round 1 was disappointing but I would not let your guard down later on this evening and into the overnight hours. I think people are disappointed over Round 1 that they may think round 2 will also be a bust. Looks like a 10pm to 12am window for the worst weather. Hires guidance is looking good for strong to severe storms.

Awesome Doug! One of the higher totals I've seen. I made a posting error on CVG's rainfall total. The correct total from round 1 is 0.18"

Oh my gosh, the wind was crazy strong on my street! My neighbor has nine trees that got knocked down or severely damaged. It was like a hurricane, but it only lasted for a minute. That was all it took to cause so much damage.

Nothing structural. A lot of cosmetic work needs done. By radar looked like brunt of the bow came right across river to my location.

That's good! Tree clean up can easily be done with some chain saws. Let it dry then a nice bon fire can be had by all.

We have some weak SB CAPE now and DCAPE is up to 1100 for NKY. Watching radar as the LLJ continues to ramp up. Storms continue developing and expanding over MO now getting into South Central ILL. Latest thinking from the boys:

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM MONDAY MORNING/...
Severe weather threat has ended for now, with showers and storms
that developed near a warm front weakening and moving northeast.
Have canceled the remainder of Severe Thunderstorms Watch 316.

An unstable airmass will remain in place, followed by a cold
front extending from the low over Michigan. A broad area should
experience additional showers and thunderstorms this evening and
into the overnight hours, mainly over southern locations. Some
strong to severe storms will still be possible, though surface
based instability will be at a diurnal minimum. Heavy downpours
leading to localized flooding will also be possible.

All locations will see mild low temperatures in the 60s.
