My high so far was 79, now down to 77 as the line moves in. My Dew is at 70 so the rain should be fairly heavy in nature. Not much wind as of yet. Just noisy so far with the thunder.

Rain just started up now. By the looks of the radar, everything should get a nice drink with this first round of action. Glad I held off on watering my plants. :)

Ran is picking up in intensity but not much wind. I suppose the warning was issued due to the radar showing high winds but so far IMBY, they are not making it to the surface. EDIT: Blinding rainfall now, wow!

Shows over now... finally had some winds to 40 mph and the rainfall rate was very very impressive! I did not witness any hail. Just a good ole fashioned strong t-storm here. Thankfully, with the area of light to mod rain yet to come behind the line, everything should get a good drink. :)

EDIT: CVG gusted to 51 mph.

Don’t know the status of the 500 but they should have a window of opportunity once the line is through

The sun is back out in ILL. Seeing some airmass recovery back across that area. We shall see how our airmass recovers later this afternoon.

Honestly, I was expecting a lot more action. I did enjoy the thunderstorm though 🙂

Our current MCV is definitely weakening and the backside rain has fallen apart significantly. I am even seeing a peak or two of sun here. IMO the air mass may have a good chance at recovering ahead of the low for tonight.

Reds delayed top of the 6th inning leading 4-0 over the Dodgers. Tim went on an impromptu storm 'chase' at the GAB. ;)

79 both here in G'ville and DAY.

UPDATE: Game has resumed.

Nothing to speak of in West Chester. One wind gust of 20 MPH per my weather station but I must have missed it 😀. Less than .10 inch of rain. Hopefully we get some rain tonight so I don’t have to water.

Yep, red maple bit it. I’d say winds gusted to 45-50 here. The odd thing was it was out of the SE , that doesn’t happen very often.

Yeah, the wind was the same here. I looked out the front window when the line came thru and the wind wasn't bad due to the house blocking it. Looked out the back window and the trees in the backyard were swaying pretty good.

I'm kind of thinking the same thing. Sunshine now getting into SW Indiana and all thru ILL. With the days still getting longer, we should easily get a couple of hours plus of sunshine ourselves later this afternoon. CAPE is back to 2000 J/KG over Central ILL at this time. DCAPE back in that area is 1100. Mid level lapse rates are recovering also. Bulk shear for us is around 40 knots, with 60 knots back across ILL ahead of the surface low as well as West KY. 18Z HRRR shows a nice squall line for the Cincy Tri-state on South for this evening. Arrival time around the 11pm to 12am window.
