Re: July 2022 Weather Discussion
Light rain just getting started here. Good morning all! It is 71 degrees imby. Looks like a nice morning per radar and Bgoney's post. As I feared last night when I posted, only light rain for us, and I-70 Crew not seeing much of anything.
Re: July 2022 Weather Discussion
Some pretty insane rainfall amounts in MO overnight. Flash flood emergencies in effect there.

Re: July 2022 Weather Discussion
And honestly prob won't see much in total as most of the action should stay south IMO

Been dry for the last 90 mins or so here. Light rain is poised to begin again shortly though per radar.

I am thinking that I am going to get anything here N of Middletown. At least until tonight, correct?

Re: July 2022 Weather Discussion
0.06" total at CVG as of 11am - you go Flood Watch!
Re: July 2022 Weather Discussion
HRRR hinting at the development of some heavy/stronger cells overnight. With a saturated atmosphere, those could put down some intense rainfall rates should they develop.

Light rain here still... It's taking forever, but slowly adding a few hundredths each hour that goes by.

12Z Euro has on and off again chances, but really wants to hammer CVG Thurs night. Models have been terrible so I don't really trust much of what they are showing to be honest. We'll see if the HRRR is correct overnight tonight too or if it's just "on something"

Re: July 2022 Weather Discussion
GFS was probably the best forecast model for our area for round one this morning from 12 to 24 hrs ago, with the other models playing catch-up in the trend for practically nothing for CVGland and points north. If your more than 50 miles away from the frontal boundary you're not going ro see much rain at all. You don't get the dynamics and you get the blow -off clouds from the good stuff holding down instability for even pop-up storms. Hopefully we have round two actually show up tonight for the tri-state as long as the front is nearby

Re: July 2022 Weather Discussion
Sun's been out here for the last 45 mins. Can't believe that a flood watch was issued and we barely got over 0.10" of rain. Even the new trends keep a lot of the heaviest rains even tonight south, but CVG does get at least a little something out of it. IMO the Flood Watch really isn't needed for folks near and north of the river. The I-64 corridor took it in the chin today as mentioned.Bgoney wrote: ↑Tue Jul 26, 2022 4:41 pm GFS was probably the best forecast model for our area for round one this morning from 12 to 24 hrs ago, with the other models playing catch-up in the trend for practically nothing for CVGland and points north. Re: July 2022 Weather Discussion
Had a few light showers early in the afternoon. Didn't even wet the pavement. The about 4:30 had a nice rain shower and everything but under the trees got wet including me.
