Per the Aussies, MJO is in Phase 6 as of 12/27 and moving towards 7. It maybe in 7 by tomorrow or the next day I would say provided it keeps moving as forecast.

It's been so long seeing the MJO cold phases during January! Like the coldest time of the year. Much promise is ahead!

Good morning all! A nice day today as we are in between systems. Then we get wet later tonight into tomorrow. Could end as a few flurries but it'll probably be 2025 when that happens.

An EF0 touched down just west of Marysville, OH around 3 o'clock Sun afternoon. Thankfully there weren't any reported injuries.

I grilled some wings and some corn for NYE tomorrow.... wanted to get that out of the way now since it'll be wet tomorrow and kind of nasty. Just have to reheat

I heard a clap of thunder an hour or two ago.

Good morning all! I also heard a lot of thunder overnight strong winds, and heavy rain! 0.26" as of 7am at CVG. We will see a break then more light rain re-enters the picture this afternoon. We will top out in the 50s then fall. Winds to 30 mph in gusts also possible today.

Seeing some light sprinkley rain now as the wind picks up and temps begin to fall. Our new pattern is almost here!

0.29" for the day at CVG. We'll tack on a bit more and finish the year at around 1.25" below normal. Not too bad!

We'll finish Dec about an inch above normal in precip and about 2" below normal in snow. If we can get the next system or two to hit correctly, then we'll be making up for it in January. We are only -0.2" below normal season to date so right at normal basically.

Winds now gusting to 31 at CVG with light rain. 42 now and it will continue to fall to near freezing by morning. 34-36 tomorrow with a few flurries / snow showers with breezy conditions also expected.

Both CVG / CMH reached 51 and DAY 50 for the last day of 2024.

Just to finish out Dec and at CVG temps ended up 2.5 degrees above normal with that late surge of mild air and the complete opposite of November when we had a late surge of cold air. Precip ended up 1 inch above normal and snowfall below normal. 2024 in the books and who knows what the weather will bring us this year.
