Wow another wonderful day lol. I see temp hit 97 as we did slip somewhat with the dew points this afternoon. Looks like about the same heat index as Thursday which was terrible. Lots of pop up storms this afternoon especially south and east. Slow movers and usually rain themselves out but you can pick up a nice little dose of rain in a short period of time. In the extended and talking Tuesday-Thursday of next week and it seems the models are creeping higher with temps. I still believe upper 70's Monday and Tuesday and then low 80's Wednesday and Thursday. Models are trending toward 80 Monday and Tuesday rising to the mid 80's later in the week so yes not big difference but a few degrees each day

Nice little downpour here in Cheviot and 78 degrees, now I feel special! Lol

Nothing here yet for rain. CVG did hit 98 so not only a new record for the day, but the hottest temp for 2024 as well. I was 99'ed!

My weather station in Delhi Township recorded an air temperature of 101°!

This stat is even more impressive that its happening in summer. I understand the fall period can be dry but summer when you would expect at least a shower or thundershower on one of those days to hit the airport.

At 1154 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Fountain City,
moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Hail may cause minor damage to vegetation.

Locations impacted include...
Richmond, Greenville, Arcanum, Lewisburg, New Paris, New Madison,
Fountain City, Wayne Lakes, Eldorado, Verona, West Manchester, Spring

Good Morning and finally the last day of August. Temp wise for the month we will average about 1 degree above normal which imo anything between 1 degree above and 1 degree below is just a normal month. Rainfall and well below but we do have today to catch up some. For Met summer its hard to believe but the average temp for CVG is going to be around 1.3 degrees above average so not the extreme heat many met's talked about this summer. Yes it has been dry as June was very dry and got a tad better in July but drier once again in August. If you told me in May the average temp was going to be 1.3 above I would have taken that in a heartbest

Good morning all! Most of the light to mod rain is closer to the front well to our NW. We should be fair game anytime this afternoon after about 3pm or so. Mid 80s expected as well as a marginal risk of severe wx. You know the drill, some will get whacked and others not so much.

Radar is looking nice to the west and movement is in a east/northeast movement and as the front continue to slide slowly east the chances for storms go up later in the morning and afternoon. If you are under one of the slow moving storms you can pick up an inch of rain. As with most summer time systems not everybody gets hit but today is one where more folks are involved. I will discuss Sept weather in the correct area

It looks like some folks will see rain much earlier then I expected. Nice little clump over the SE counties in KY to the West of Maysville then we'll have to wait and see what can develop to the west as the front pushes in later. Visible satellite does not show a whole lot of sun today however, we do have some weak CAPE 500 J/KG for the Metro and 1000 to the south of us. There is a pocket over S IN of 25-30 knot bulk shear as well. Dews are juicy around 70 or so this morning with very high PWATS of 1.8". Heavy rain will be the bigger story with any storm that goes up as well as isolated damaging winds. Wet microbursts like the last several days that have occurred in a few spotty locations.

Radar is not too impressive. Looks like folks SE of I-71 will have the best chance at getting any heavier rain and stronger storms.

Les the front is laying near us and we still have a shot to see some additional showers and thundershowers break out to our west. At the moment no doubt folks south and east have a better shot but I still believe some development to the west.

Last night a cluster of t-storms came through during the midnight hour and it sounded like a cavalry cannon brigade but so very thankful for the downpour that accompanied it.
