After the deform snows end, there is a break but a few more bands of snow showers should rotate thru the region that are back across ILL and Western IN for later this afternoon. As Tim said, local amounts of up to 1/2" are possible with those bands.

Should get a couple of inches when it's all said and done, isolated 3" totals are around too.

Still snowing heavily here. At least 2 inches on the roads. We are under a level 1 snow emergency.

I do! I am healed up enough now to be able to do it and it's not very heavy so should be easy to remove.

Be careful and my guess could be a smaller layer of ice underneath. Going to head out around 11am which is perfect as we get sun highest in the sky between 11a-3p and my driveway faces south which also helps.

I will do the same. If there is some ice underneath I'll throw some salt down. I have to work tomorrow. BTW next week is my last week of commuting to the office for a while The account I am on is going away but I landed a temp assignment to perform Windows 11 installs for another account and it's work from home. So I'll be back working from home again for at least 6 months starting Feb 24th.

Since we changed to snow, CVG's QPF is up to 0.16" as of 10am. Guessing at least 2" or so of snow has fallen there. Ratio est for this event is 12.5 : 1

As of 9:40am from the boys:

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/...
Mid level deformation zone on the back side of deepening low
pressure to our northeast will transition from west to east
across our region from now into early afternoon. Temperatures
will drop near or below freezing in the CAA. And with gusty
winds up to 40 mph, this will result in slushy accumulations
that may ice up on untreated roads, especially bridges and
overpasses. Total snow accumulations will range from 1 to 3
inches. A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect until 7 PM
for the entire region. There will likely be a brief lull in pcpn
coverage behind the main synoptic deformation zone before mid
level cyclonic flow and CAA off the Great Lakes allow scattered
snow showers to develop. These snow showers will likely persist
into the evening hours. We will determine if the Winter Weather
Advisory will remain and perhaps get extended a little longer as
new model runs are analyzed, or if a Special Weather Statement
will replace it.

Since additional runoff from rainfall has pretty much ended,
have cancelled the Flood Watch for southern counties. Flooding
of creeks, streams, and rivers will persist from recent
rainfall.

I’d say a good 2-3” of snow here. That’s after about 2” rain last night!

I just went out and cleaned the walk and driveway. There was a little slush under the snow on parts of the driveway but it was an easy cleanup. I’m sure anyone who waits until late today or tomorrow will be dealing with ice.

I'm in that 2-3" range here and my driveway was the same way. A layer of slush that hadn't yet bonded to the pavement. Glad to get rid of it before it turns into a glacier by morning. Then, I'd never get out!

I have not seen a report from CVG yet but most reports into ILN indicate a 2-4" event for most folks.

Per traffic cams on I-74 near the boarder with IN, that next incoming band has dropped visibilities pretty good!

Yeah this one was a cutter for New England unless you're up into Maine or NNE or something.
