Absolute Vorticity

A couple of storms out there this morning then again another small chance later today. We'll go with 50 / 50 chances Thurs and Fri. A hot and nasty Sat with scattered chances again Sun and 50/50 again into early next week. The 90s should stop for a bit by Sunday.

My low was only 75 this AM. Barely 1.08" for me this month so needless to say, as I have mentioned before, hoping for some liquid gold!

As Bgoney mentioned in the Atlantic Tropical thread, we've got a shot at something coming in next week should current modeling be correct. That would be great for our lawns and gardens!

Saw one cell about 5 this morning that tried to head my way but dissipated. No surprise there.

So anyone think a contest day may be in jeopardy today due to a bit more convection around and blow-off clouds?

82 at CVG despite the clouds so any amount of sun should get us to 90 unless the clouds stay like they are now thru 2pm or something. If the tropics play ball, we'll cool down next week and get some nice rains.

A decent cell just to my NW. It's moving East so if it doesn't die on me, I've got a shot at this one.

CVG got 0.54" down to 73 degrees. 78 at the Boone Co mesonet site. They got missed completely! Meanwhile in my hood... 73 also and I picked up about a quarter of an inch. I accept!

Nice little boundary along the I-71 corridor back towards IND. Watching those cells S of IND to see if they can hold together for later on.
