I know about 10 days ago the models showing a cold snap around Thanksgiving and yes a bust on timing but no doubt the models showed the cold and give them credit for that alone. Up to a whopping 20 and saw a few flurries this morning.

Heading into the last day of November and rain should be approaching. Many possible rain events have been underwhelming in terms of the models. Will this one fail as well. Trends say yes and one reason I see this is how fast the system moves away from us once it gets into the faster winds above. The reason to say no is the GOM is really sending tons of moisture this way and you put that warm and moist air on top of a cooler air below and the recipe for a nice period of moderate rainfall. I am going with a .5-1.0 locally but folks southwest may exceed that amount as they may have a longer period of moderate rain falling.

7 inches at 6:45 am. Snow has stopped for now, more expected, probably not as intense.
Outstanding!!!

My original call was for an inch plus but that was under the assumption that we would get hit by both systems (Friday and Sun / Mon next week). We should still get a half inch plus IMO for Friday but the second system is still TBD.

I hit 17 at one point and up to a whopping 25 so far. First below 32 degree day in awhile and this cold has impressed me though it will be short-lived.

CVGs coldest day of 2023 was 23.5 in Feb. (for an average). Can we tie or beat it ?

Just shows how mild we were after the new year. Another item is we had plenty of rain early this year but that eased up later in the summer and fall. California and Spain are a few examples where their rainy season is in the winter and though much of year is beautiful having the rain that time of year can cause other problems. We do not want that every year.

25 currently IMBY, 26 at CVG. That will probably be it for today. One more cold night, similar to what we had this morning, then we moderate.

Probably achieved the coldest day for 2023 then. Can we get the coldest low temp (CVG) for 2023 which is only 16?

The actual high for today at CVG per the 5pm climate report was 32 degrees since that occurred just after midnight. But if you are just talking about the daytime high then yeah, I'm going with 26. For tonight, I don't think CVG will drop that low. We will have a light S wind kicking in late tonight so we may hit our overnight low like at 3 or 4am then begin to rise as the light southerly flow and WAA begins to kick in. Still cold for this time of year anyway you slice it.

Oops, forgot to look at those overnight temps, I can’t count it as the coldest then, but cold nonetheless

27 was the actual daytime high at CVG today. Currently down to 21 as of this post. We'll see how low we can go before the southerly flow levels off the temps and then they begin to slowly rise. Despite the cold start, we should easily be able to soar into the 40s tomorrow on a strong south wind. I think we can hit 47 or 48.

Already down to 18 at my house. I agree that during that night we level off and temps may rise toward dawn.

29 as of 10am at CVG but the S wind has increased so the mid 40s at least should not be a problem later today.

Per the 5pm climate report, CVG actually dropped to 15 about 1:30am then slowly rose to 18 by the time I got up at 4am. So I was kind of right after all on the temp rising part, but was dreadfully wrong when I said that temps would not drop that low . 46 for the official high today. 46 also here.
