Euro also has the shot on Thurs. Looks like a backdoor style front with a line forming well to the north then dropping south.

The Triple Hs this week folks. Hazy Hot Humid Nothing extreme. 5 to 10 degrees above avg What you would expect for late August truly. Hot here with an active tropics. Tropics take us into Fall then we'll get cooler eventually. Just how it goes.

I had to come home and take a nap today.
It was a warm one. Weird because we have had worse days than today.

Low 70s this morning... That 92 from yesterday., could easily be beaten today. Tomorrow also looks similar. Back to 91 or 92 thereafter as t-storm chances stat to slowly get introduced. Thurs, Fri, Sunday , and Mon of next week look to be the chances (scattered) over the next week. Above avg temps thru the end of Aug expected.

Absolute amazing and unprecedented event. Imagine getting half or third of your annual rainfall in one single day. Many of the videos are just heartbreaking.

Here's an interesting link from Piney river near Vernon TN (NW of Centerville TN (which shows how high the river went Saturday morning.
https://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrogr ... gage=vert1
Flood stage is 14 ft and it went way above major flood stage of 24 and crested near 32 ft 10 am Saturday morning...
At that stage (see flood impacts) bottom of link, (Water overtops the Highway 230 bridge west of Nunnelly, and the bridge may be impassable at higher stages). Unbelievable!

I think CVG hit 90 during the 12pm hour but the 1pm ob is going to come in as being 89'ed.
Doesn't matter, 90+ all this week is a lock unless a rouge miracle, or t-storm pops up.

A small break should be coming by months end next week. How long does it last and does the heat return? Probably will. Don't think we can say good bye to the 90s just yet. Would not surprise me to see some early in Sept esp if the tropics are active. If the tropics suddenly die off, it'll get cooler sooner. To me, the tropics are active and will stay active. Peak tropical activity isn't until mid Sept anyway.
