They seem to be waiting a bit late to start thinking about a watch here. That's awfully close and moving fast.

Thankfully that storm weakened a bit as it entered Dearborn County. Just some lightning and moderate rain so far.

Any thoughts on that major cell in Southwest Kentucky moving towards Louisville and then Cincinnati?

I am watching live coverage on this outbreak. I hope people are aware of what is going on, this will be historic with large destructive tornadoes hitting populated areas.

A lot of reports of death and destruction. I would not even go to bed tonight in these areas, what a scary situation for a lot of people tonight

Just heard on TV that an Amazon facility in Kentucky collapsed and they are calling it a mass casualty situation. How terrible.
Edit: Now they're saying Illinois. Does anyone know for sure?

Also a roof collapsed at a nursing home in Arkansas ? and some casualties there including some fatalities.

Going to get some shuteye and I have my flashlight (with fresh batteries) and NOAA radio (also fresh batteries) handy nearby.
A few minutes ago had a close lightning strike that made a popping sound.

still watching live coverage and ongoing long track tornadoes going through Kentucky right now. people are going to be shocked when the sun comes up tomorrow and start to see all the damage.

Going to a sad day for many and even though the folks on here were ahead of the game I don't believe anybody could have seen this kind of death and destruction. I will bring one point that the media and yes folks in the weather business need to learn from this outbreak. I sent an email to my local neighbors early Thursday and the start of my email was I hate when folks use the term weather alert day but went on to say we really need one between 1a-10a Saturday. The phrase is used way to often and folks just ignore it after awhile and very similar to breaking news. These mean nothing when used all the time so hopefully some media organizations look at how they use these terms. I understand they want folks to tune in but really imo folks have become numb to those terms.

Agree Tim, you said it perfectly. But we are way beyond a solution, the MSM have contaminated every aspect of news, weather , sports. It's a cluster...
