Dusting total here. Not much change in overnight mods for the late wed/thurs event. GFS has been about the same for several days and EU the last few runs, both resulting in a a low track producing rain as the outcome with possible backend flakes for most of the region . QPF in the 1-2"range.

Looking like a nice snow storm from St. Louis to Chicago to Saginaw Bay. I like the above forecast. Looks good! It's going to be a windy couple of days mid to late next week also with this system. A chilly 15 degrees here this morning.

Good Morning and the streets are in great shape. The mid-week storm and how the models have handled it so far. The gfs which was furthest north and then made a slight move southeast has went back northwest overnight. The Euro which was north as well but not quite that far compared to the gfs moved southeast over the weekend and that continues. The CMC has always been the furthest southeast and that continues though warmer layers are lasting longer on the overnight runs. So the forecast really has been a nice round of rainfall from all 3 models and the question as always been when does the colder air catch up to the precip it at all. Still nearly 2 days away before the system starts to get itself together but this is a progressive system so that helps keep totals in tack and precip types for the most part are going to be snow or rain though a period of sleet is possible but very short-lived since the colder once it arrives should take care of the sleet chances quickly.

12Z CMC is still south with a snow storm now for ST. Louis, IND to Toledo. Rain to snow for us. CMC is correcting NW with each run so it's slowly coming around to the more northern solutions. GEFS also supporting the OP GFS. 12Z UKIE has the low coming thru NKY.

Looking at the CMC and early on it goes a little northwest only to shift to the east later in the storm. So for us still a rain to snow outcome. GFS is still holding steady which is mainly a rain storm and maybe a few flurries or light snow on the tail end but not much. Waiting on the Euro who has been in the middle of these for the past couple of days.

UKIE is a nice middle of the road solution currently.

Euro holds serve so again mainly rain but could have a tad more in the way of snow on the back end compared to the gfs but not as much as the CMC. 2 days out and all 3 major models sticking to their guns. For us locally probably not much difference overall though a little more snow with the CMC. The places like Kansas City,St Louis,Chicago,Detroit the path of the storm is crucial in terms of snowfall amounts.
