Looks like ILN right on cue went with Frost Advisory for all but the Columbus area and Scioto valley for tonight.

We're not the only ones under a frost advisory for the first time this season.

Dewpoint of 34 here. Even with no frost advisory, my guess is some will be seen nearby.

The town that comes to mind is Lancaster - always a cold spot. Similar to Hamilton - both in valleys with the dense cold funneling in there at night.

Good Morning and so far still above 40 at CVG. Still a couple more hours to get temps in the upper 30's. The winds stayed up last night so the temp could only go down so far plus we switch winds quickly from the northeast to east which is an indicator that the next system is gearing up and moving this way so by later today those winds should be out of the southeast. More later as I look at info from overnight

I am at 34 at my house. Holding pretty steady there so I don't see getting much lower but, what a cold morning for October!

39 now at CVG which ties for the coolest morning of the Fall so far officially. 37 still for me and that beats 38 that I've had twice so far imby. Once the sun starts to come up, then we'll be able to see who got frost and who didn't. Away from the city, I imagine a lot of you will. :)

I have no changes to the forecast for the rest of Rocktober so for those who regularly are on here either posting or just reading, you know the drill. To summarize in case anyone hasn't seen it yet:

Rain moves in Thurs in that 10-1pm range across the area. On and off rain continues thru Sat afternoon and evening. Halloween is dry. At least an inch of rain can be expected, some will see more. Winds at times will gust in that 20-30 mph also. No severe wx or damaging winds are expected and I don't expect any flash flooding either. If leaves clog a storm drain or something, that's about the only hazard I see, but that's normal in the fall anyway to be on the look out for that.

For temps... U50s today, maybe 60 if we're lucky. U40s to the mid 50s Thurs - Sat with highs around 60 or so on Halloween.

Your Halloween forecast: Dry with temps falling thru the 50s for Trick-or-treat time. Not too bad honestly for the kiddos.

I was thinking down around there myself. :) Chillicothe was my pick. :)

Yes it gets cold there as well - must have had clouds down that way (or a light breeze) as Lancaster was at 45.

Good Morning and yes there is some frost especially away from the house and I saw some cars in the neighborhood that the thin layer of ice on the windshield. Doubt if its a killing frost but hopefully this will keep the grass from growing like its mid-May.

30 looks to be the coldest reading I can find. Was wondering if a rural valley got into the U20s or not?

Hey Les - according to the IES site, the coldest I saw in Ohio was 30 at Hamilton and also Wright-Patt AFB.

In Indiana, I saw a 29 at Goshen.

Thanks Mike! I figured there had to be a 20 degree reading some place.

Finally got the grass mowed and the leaves ground up. Ready for the next 3 days of rain / wind to bring more leaves down. I think the forecast for the rest of Rocktober is well in hand and I don't have much more to add. Hope all enjoyed the nice day today to get anything done outside that needed to be done.
