My gauge picked up a brief heavy shower ground wetter of around .08"

A ground wetter is better than nothing though considering others who have picked up around a trace or 0 in other recent systems.

CVG picked up 0.15" Boone Co mesonet 0.34" and I got around 0.22". It'll have to do as the heat is building Upper 80s to lower 90s once we get towards the middle and end of next week. Get ready for real summer time temps that we haven't had a lot of yet this season. I don't think it'll last, but several contest days appear to be coming.

Glad you got the rain but not the end result. :( Hopefully they will have it back on soon for you. Glad that it isn't hot today.

In about a week from now +-, it looks to me that cvgland, Cbus and Dayton will have the first good chance of the ridge rider complexes, at strength, possible affecting them ,for a few days anyway . The ridge opens up a bit to the north, bringing the hot temps and possibly the MCS further north

I agree. There should be a transitional period. The hotter pattern begins mid to late next week. Then I think by next weekend or shortly thereafter, the current pattern (+PNA) returns to allow for toughing to return and the boundary most likely setting up SW of us again. Hopefully, we can cash in while the boundary is further north before it settles back SW again.

To add.... ENS models all show the core of the most intense heat staying to our SW. We'll see a few days in the low 90s but that should be the hottest we get. 93 is the hottest temp so far at CVG and currently, I do not see us exceeding that yet.

77 / 62 at CVG as of 2pm. Finally... lower dewpoints are moving into the area to give us a short break in the humidity this weekend. :)

Good afternoon and a very nice day and evening in store for us locally and this will continue on Sunday. Then we have the trough well east of us and some nice strong ridging will take place and push the jet in a more normal location for late July. Expect the mcs train next week but will be on the southern and eastern edge so again just need to watch each day to see where these may develop and finally head east and southeast. Hottest time of the summer happens later this week with we could see temps in the 88-92 range starting on Wednesday and last 3-4 days. With the recent rains I don't see us getting out of hand with high temps but some folks who are somewhat drier may see a day get to 94 or so. By next weekend into the following week it looks like we get back into what this summer has been for us and that is some rain likely and temps averaging a few degrees below normal. Has been a very mild summer and though we have the period coming up of some heat the grass at least at my house is lush for this time of year.

We've got some more isolated storms possible today then the 90s should start rearing their ugly heads around the region. Low to mid 90s looking very likely now esp by the end of the week going into this weekend. Storm chances are there each day but very slim. Typical dog days of summer pattern incoming for about a week.

Good Morning and the hottest week of the summer is headed this way. Sounds terrible but its really normal and since this summer has provided little in the way of both heat and humidity at the same time it will feel hot. Chances for thundershowers are still in the forecast all week but they will be much more isolated and the best chance may be late Tuesday when a small disturbance looks to pass nearby. Hopefully by the weekend another cold front will come through and get us back to what we have seen most of the summer. Temps should max out by the end of the week and most likely that will be 92 or 93 as we know around here if the dew points are in the upper 60's and low 70's and with vegetation around we very seldom get higher than that unless we have a long extended period of heat and that looks unlikely.

Good morning Tim! The humidity is the big difference between the last 90-93 degree weather we had versus this one. Expecting those higher dews this go around as you mentioned. Due to lack of rain in some places, 95 is possible IMO. If your ground is lush and green then 92 or 93 should do it. Hottest temp so far at CVG this summer has been 93. We shall see if we can beat it. I am expecting it to be broken unless a t-storm ruins the party. I'd be okay with that too lol I think a trough re-enters the picture during the 1st week of Aug to bring us back down into the 80s again.

Good Morning Les and I agree some places that were not hit as much with rain over the past month can reach 95 but CVG my guess is 93 at best because models always overdo the temps locally. We will be on the eastern edge of the ridge as well which gives us a better shot at some thundershowers in the early morning and later afternoon but again these will be isolated and way to hard to pinpoint. My grass is lush for mid-July and still mowing every 5-6 days and I hope this continues for the remainder of the summer.

Nice to see Mike and I believe that will be the case most of the week as some folks will get hit with a early morning or late afternoon/early evening storm.
