Radar looking very active across MO and ILL and that should track towards IND and Dayton areas. It'll be close for the River but most of it should stay north of us. We'll see though, you never know. ;)

HRRR going bonkers with QPF up here this afternoon into tonight. Basically right along the I-70 corridor. I can see why the Flash Flood Watch was issued!

Only a tenth of an inch overnight here. Last time we were under FFW it stayed n/w of us. Let's see if the curse continues.

Hey JP, I'm kind of hoping it does. Coming over to camp at Alum Creek this weekend. Maybe I can bring my dome and cover the campground.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Southwestern Franklin County in southeastern Indiana...
Northern Ripley County in southeastern Indiana...

* Until 1245 PM EDT.

* At 1218 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles northeast
of North Vernon, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is possible. Expect wind
damage to trees and power lines.

* Locations impacted include...
Batesville, Osgood, Napoleon, Millhousen, Otter Village, Ballstown
and Huntersville.

This includes I-74 in Indiana between mile markers 145 and 147.

Flood watch expanded south to cover NKY top 3 of counties and Cincy as well.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON...

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of Southeast Indiana,
Northern Kentucky and Ohio, including the following counties, in
Southeast Indiana, Dearborn, Franklin IN, Ohio, Ripley and
Switzerland. In Northern Kentucky, Boone, Campbell and Kenton. In
Ohio, Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Fayette OH, Hamilton and Warren.

* Through Saturday afternoon.

* Repeated rounds of showers and thunderstorms with torrential
rainfall are expected today through Saturday afternoon. Widespread
rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches are expected. Localized higher
totals are possible and flash flooding may develop, especially
late this afternoon through tonight.

Harrison, Bright, Hidden Valley, Milan, Moores Hill, Blue Jay,
Guilford, Logan, Manchester, Sunman, St. Leon, West Harrison, Cedar
Grove, Mount Carmel, Penntown, Interstate 74 at US Route 52,
Rockdale, Sharptown, Saint Peter and Dover.

Update from the boys...

Flash flood watch extension...
Given current radar trends and the threat for additional
thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, have expanded the
flash flood watch south to include the tri-state/cincy and
surrounding areas along I-71. While it is July, this region has
picked up above normal rainfall over the last week with
additional rain occurring this over the last couple of hours.
Rain will continue into the overnight hours with the flash
flood threat continuing into the day on Saturday.

I agree Mike... I'm actually expecting my dome to burst in the next 30-45 mins. This could get interesting from a heavy rain perspective. Lot of those cells might be trying to converge on the Metro. Glad to see the boys reacting in a timely manner.

If I remember correctly, the high res NAM was all over this first round. Someone can double check for me though if they wish haha.

Just checked our weather station and it showed a rain rate of 5.65 inches an hour. Wowsers, is it raining hard here!
