While we track Ian in our tropical area of the forum as well as keeping an eye on Saturday's forecast for us... overnight lows are the biggest challenges for us tonight and tomorrow night. That is when the coolest air will be over the region. After that the high will begin to give way as more humid air slowly begins to move in ahead of Ian. I still like 40 to 45 for most city centers with the upper 30s possible in out lying areas. I think this is a nice call! Highs should be in that 60 to 65 degree range the next couple of days before slowly modifying back into the 70s by this weekend and going into next week. Exception to not having 70s this weekend would be clouds and rain from Ian should we receive more of an impact then what is currently being shown. We will probably need one more day of guidance to nail down his impacts for us.

We might but the heaviest will be SE of our area. Some light rain is possible though. Current timing looks to be Sat night and Sunday attm. Seeing some guidance even lingering chances into Monday. So we'll have to work on the track and speed of Ian as time goes on.

Looks like we saw some 30's in the normal colder areas. I know some reports of low to mid 30's in parts of Kentucky. So yes some patchy light frost in a few areas but no widespread frost.

Only in the 50s this afternoon thanks to the chilly start and cloud cover we have seen this afternoon. If we do see the 60s it won't be for long. Record cold high at CVG for today is 50 degrees set back in 1967.

...DISCUSSION...
For the rest of the extended range, the threat for organized severe
thunderstorms appears low. In the wake of Ian, northerly low-level
flow across the Southeast and Gulf of Mexico will limit moisture
return through early/middle next week, resulting in generally dry
and stable conditions for most areas east of the Rockies.
Thank goodness!

Great forecast for football e.g. as the Bengals host the Dolphins Thurs night.
Despite Miami being (3-0), prayerfullly Cincy can pull it off for a 2nd win of the season!
Currently double nickels here in G'ville.

What a nice chilly day as clouds hung around and kept temps down quite a bit. Do the clouds leave and if so how low can we go tonight. Funny as many parts of southeast and eastern Kentucky have had frost but this happens quite often as you have some really deep valleys and that cold air just sinks and many times they will get a frost before us and this looks to be the case this year as well.

59 now at CVG, may hit 60 but that'll be it. I'm thinking tonight will be similar to last night low temp wise.
