Something else interesting to note, and I may be jumping into full hype mode here LOL Both the Euro and GFS models have K Index values near 20 in that 06-09z Sat timeframe. Could there be a rumble of thunder with these squalls?
I think Les is still waiting to see thundersnow if my memory serves me correctly. Let's hope so!

I have seen it once living here, a very long time ago with one of those big ones we got back in the 1990s.

I thought I remembered something along those lines. That's way too long though! You are way overdue! I've probably seen it 5 or 6 times in the Dayton area since the 90's.

Oh wow! That's awesome! It is rare down here further to the south without the lakes influences and such. We'll see! It's a nice looking shortwave coming in from ILL.

There's some nice 700 MB frontogenic forcing over NW ILL and S Wisc for this thing to work with as it drops in. We won't have anything interesting to talk about until like 3-5am in the morning and thru the morning at least of tomorrow.

Can’t tell if it’s hail or graupel but something is coming down hard!

Up here in north east Ohio 8-12++ inches of snowfall is likely between synoptic snow and lake effect into tomorrow.

Yeah I think we had some graupel with the squall that came through yesterday evening. Some of the rooftops had a skiff of snow this morning.

Chances for something wintry next weekend or thereabouts from the OHvalley to the interior east is not out of the question. Another deep trough for the east with a possibly better ridge out west. At the very least , yet another cold wintry type weekend ahead

Under a decent fetch off Lake Michigan...trying to whiten the mulched areas.

It's been snowing nonstop all afternoon. Grassy areas, especially those that are typically in shade, have a light covering. We probably got a tenth or two to accumulate. It will be interesting to see what KDAY says.
Edit: Channel 7 reporting 1.4" in Dayton and 1.7 inches in Xenia. Not sure where they get their numbers though.

3 new inches over night. So far 5 inches since yesterday, and 12 inches so far for month of March. May see some more today.
All morning yesterday warm ground and solar radiation were a killer. Not unexpected, but still nice to watch from the sofa.

Loved the flake action yesterday! Been busy working on the bathroom remodeling project all weekend. My Brother and I got the flooring and majority of the painting done. Have to paint and do a little more trim work and such still.

20 here this morning. First 10 days of April still void of any long term warm ups.

19 here this morning. We still may have a touch of wintry weather / rain tomorrow morning but not as big deal at all. Our big warm day in the 70s Wed then a strong T-storm risk to keep an eye on before turning colder again. We continue to be stuck in this pattern. A 3-5 day cool snap, 1 or 2 warm days... some rain / storms then wash, rinse, and repeat. 1st half of April looks to continue this trend as previously mentioned.

Wonder if the SPC will extend the Marginal risk into the Tri-state and MV at some point?

It is going to depend on timing to see if any CAPE can build up. A little early to know for sure. Last I saw, timing was not great.

Currently, the timing of the front looks to be early Thurs morning with falling temps for the day on Thursday. If correct, that would make the severe threat pretty low. If the guidance begins to speed this system up in the next 24 to 36 hours, then we'll have something to talk about. We'll see!@ For now, another night in the 20s tonight and another day with the 40s tomorrow with clouds and a small shot at a shower. The airmass is dry so the chances are low of seeing measurable precip until Wed night / Thurs morning time frame.
After that system, a small almost clipper like system zips on by to keep us unsettled with a chance for light rain Sat night into Sun. Other then the big spike into the 70s Wed, temps the rest of the time after that storm will primarily be in the 50s with lows in the 30s.
