Nice little thundershower moving through with some heavy rains and strong gusts and yes some thunder and lightning. Glad to see the rain once again and going to continue to be busy much of the week.

I am so glad I got my grass mowed tonight. It was so tall in the back yard I was almost losing my little female dog in it.

Not much rain despite what the radar looked like last night. CVG only picked up 0.20" I got 0.14" and the Boone Co mesonet site got 0.10" A small chance today esp S of the river. A small chance tomorrow then everyone stands the best chance Thursday with a cold front. Strong to severe storms again will be possible.

Looking at radar, storms are scattered in clusters all around the region. Locations like mine are still waiting for something other then a ground wetter. This set up isn't good though since we are on the northern fringes and those big MCS;s to the SE are robbing us of some of the moisture.

Those training storms to my south are 2-3 miles away. Maybe I should load the bucket brigade on my truck and park there for an hour or two

Good Morning and another nice dose of rainfall last night and total ended up being 0.49 so a two day total of 0.61. Big flooding concerns in southwest Kentucky and southeast Missouri as they continue to get slammed with heavy rain. Locally today expect some isolated storms this afternoon and some folks will get hit while others nothing at all and the best shot is south and west of the local area. Thursday looks wet for most folks but how much rain and when it occurs is the question. Friday and the weekend looks wonderful with lower humidity and very little chance of rain except maybe late Sunday but that is slim as well.

For the year we are getting closer to normal on precip and also gaining on the above normal temps for the year as a much cooler summer has put a dent in the temps. Mother Nature once again works her magic getting the earth in order.

Rant of the day and the news media talks about the heat around the world and we need to do more like the white house wanting to shield the sun lol. Yes there has been heat in the southwest but before this latest heat they were way below normal for the spring. They talk about the heat in the middle east and yes even hotter than normal for them lately but we don't hear about parts of India which have been way below normal. I have no problem in the media pointing out weather extremes but what I don't like is they have an agenda so you never hear about the below normal temps in the world.

Same old same old from MSM , some how we’re supposed to be shocked it’s really really hot in the desert. The big question for me is are we ever going to have a bona fide MCS anywhere in AVland other than leftover isolated showers from a waning complex. Louisville southward has been the jackpot zone all summer

Bgoney, I have been very lucky here and over the past 4 days getting close to 1.5 inches. My lawn looks like its mid-May and not because of an above normal rainfall this spring and summer but the cooler days and yes even nights in June. Got a little crispy last week but lush as can be this morning. Of course not all areas are seeing the rain but we are seeing a dent in the short term droughts across much of the mid-west. Getting the rain to the southwest of us is good news as well because when we try to heat up next week the more lush grounds down there will at least delay the heating by a few degrees early on. Will that be a pattern change next week and I don't believe so though we may see a few more days closer to 90 than we have this season.
