There are five guys that drove out from Central Ohio to plow snow in Denver. :) One video they posted showing them plowing slop at the beginning last night. You could see the water running away when the reached the end of their push. Have not seen any other updates from them today.

Bgoney wrote: Sun Mar 14, 2021 12:40 pm Hey Tim , how's your back? Better I hope.

A fairly typical March southern rockies Snowstorm (1'-3')in my book, but of course the MSM has to throw historic into every impactful weather system these days. There(Southern Rockies) best storms have always been either in the Fall or late winter/spring.
Hey Bgoney, thanks for asking about the back. Doing well as my chiropractor does a great job and heard tons of cracking. Been doing better on my food intake and walking every day.

52 as of 8pm at CVG, down to 50 here. We will drop into the lower 30s by morning with a brief sleet / frz rain mix changing to rain by the afternoon. Tomorrow morning will only featured scattered precip. The bulk of the precip tomorrow will be in the afternoon. ?Again, folks N of the river have the best chance at frozen precip and no issues are expected due to warm ground temps.

I've spent the last hour watching the live stream from Cheyenne that Les posted above. Reliving my experience from the Blizzard of 78. Amazing footage!

Edit: What does this say about my life? Sunday night and I've immersed myself in a blizzard 1200 miles away.

VERY dry out there this morning....low so far at 32 but my dewpoint is only 10. May take some time for the atmosphere to moisten up today which may cut down on model projection QPF.

Good morning folks! Great post Mike! 35 with a dew of 9 here. E wind gusting to 25. Evap. cooling should help with the brief period of sleet call before changing to rain. Most of it looks to be delayed until late morning into the early afternoon hours. Models have slowly come down due to the low weakening as it heads our way, plus, add in the dry air as you said Mike and I was going with 0.25" but that maybe too high now as well. Either way, the call of staying in the 30s looks good.

Wed night thru Fri morning still on tap to be a fairly decent rainfall. I still like up to an inch there.

Thanks, Les! Down a degree to 31 now and dewpoint has inched up to 14. Still dry NE wind blowing. I agree with your forecast Les on higher QPF around the Wed night-Fri AM timeframe.

Thanks Mike and I agree with your forecast for today lol E to NE wind is going to eat away at the approaching precip shield. Instead of 0.25", it's probably going to end up as a 0.10" or less kind of deal for today. 35 /11 at CVG as of 8am.

Looking like a pretty significant severe weather outbreak down in Dixie Alley on St. Patty's Day.

Light rain has started back up now. 12Z GFS shows 1.2" of rain from late Wed thru Fri morning with our next system. Track of the low is key with regards to how much rain and how long of a duration we get. Most models look good for a nice soaking. The good weather days still look to be Tues and Wed of this week and also this weekend.

Light rain started here - currently 35/21. Good to see the first 0.01" in the new gauge. Guess that means I installed it correctly LOL

Euro is coming in much wetter for our next system... 2"+ at CVG. With the current one, CVG has 0.04" in the books.

Awesome Mike! It should get a workout with our next system. When I first got mine, I compared it to CVG to see if it was working correctly. I assume you'll do that with MGY.
