I read where a tornado / funnel cloud was reported in the Albany and Evansville, Wisc areas.

There are quite a few supercells in ILL and Wisc. No watches or anything issued. It was not a risk day. Whoopsey!

I did a search to see if Wisconsin has ever had a tornado in the month of February. This popped up.

took a little walk into the woods this morning around 930. a really nice pleasantly warm sunny day that you dont get these types all that often this time of year. im sure there will be a small price to pay for this a little later down the road though.

Last Year, I believe Wisc got their first documented January tornado. This year it's February. Pretty crazy stuff!

Temps today will be determined by how quickly clouds move into the region from SKY. I am going with 65 at CVG today which is 2 degrees short of the record.

MJO still a broad wave of activity in phases 6-7-8 , with the most explosive in 7 . Basically still doggie paddling in 7 , towards 8 for a while longer

Les already overcast and quite breezy. My guess we will have some breaks the next few hours but then mostly cloudy. Got a feeling the low 60's may be tops just because the winds are not quite as strong as yesterday which really boosted the temperature.

We've looped back into phase 6 as of 2/7 per the Aussies.

We are starting off quite a bit warmer but without some sun, I agree. 65+ is toast.

I am not so sure about that and I believe its more in phase 7 heading for phase 8. I still believe its going to continue on but if I am wrong it will go into the COD which is not always a bad thing.

I’ve always taken those loopty loops shown as convection that keeps back building like we’ve seen it keep doing in 6 and 7 with such a broad area of convection . IMO for the full effects of 8 to be felt we need to get rid of all/most of that convection/clouds in 6 and eventually 7

Looking at the mjo into the future I am not sure that its going to be the major player as it has been for several weeks, The AO looks to become very negative an also the PV will have imput as well. Going to be fun to see which one wins the battle though the MJO should weaken imo. Battles in February can lead to a big storm or two and I do expect that because the pattern is very busy with systems both to our north and south.

The sun did come out for a good 15 minutes and a few more like that and mid 60's are possible.

60 now at CVG so our 65 has a shot Tim! Skies are completely clear now in Mason. Visible sat pic shows the clouds closing in on NKY though so the sunshine for CVG won't last too much longer.
