0.10" here - also disappointed. By the looks at radar, I won't be tacking on too much more.

Good Afternoon and finally got in on some rainfall as I have missed most this past few weeks. So far 0.74 inches which is wonderful as it started out a light rain that soaked in and then heavier towards the end. Over the next several hours as the main round leaves you can still expect an isolated shower or thundershower as we are still quite murky. Then we will be dry overnight and Sunday expect for that isolated shower on Sunday but most folks will remain dry. Monday has a better shot of a more widespread rainfall ahead of a decent cold front. Tuesday may be the best day will lower temps and humidity.

Les I was very lucky and I thought 1/4 inch may be all until that final 30 minute downpour that boosted my totals up. Wonderful for lawn and flowers and no watering needed at this point. Could use a few more rounds like this over the next 3-5 days. Heat wise and the models have hinted at this only to back off once we get closer. At least for the next week no longer term heat though I believe humidity will be higher except for maybe Tuesday.

I was worried I was going to have to water when I made that 0.10" post but I got that final downpour too that definitely saved the day for my lawn.

Concerning severe season and I always look at mid-March - mid -July as the prime 4 months. Sure we can get severe weather anytime but once you past mid-July the tornado aspect tends to go down. Again next week we still have the upper trough nearby so moves up chances slightly more than normal but usually the severe season is further north from the Great Lakes into the Northeast. Also mid-July - mid-Oct is really the driest part of the growing season as well and unless we have a tropical system or the trough that has hung around much of this summer stays around we tend to dry out. Good thing is many places that had short term drought in the mid-west got some nice rainfall plus temps have been normal to slightly below. This should put a dent into the drought areas. Could we get another short term drought and of course like late August until late October last year where we had a few drier than normal months.

12Z GFS isn't too impressive for future rains but the Euro gives us a quarter / third of an inch Monday and almost a half inch for Wed of next week.

Les I saw much of Boone county in the .25-.30 range but over at Lunken they got 1.11 inches and I ended up somewhere in between. So a wide range in a short distance.

Les I believe models really have a hard time in the summer with rainfall totals. Sure the models take the whole atmosphere and one run CVG gets 1/2 inch and Dayton gets 0.02 and then the next run vise versa. Timing in summer is key and rarely do we have a system like we did today that gave all folks some rainfall. So I will be happy with another .5 -1.0 over the next 5 days especially since the heat stays away.

Hey Eric and hope you and your family are doing well. Great radar and it shows some of the isolated storms and how they can get quite strong and especially a period of heavier rains. That should last until the sun goes down though most folks will not get any more rain but the further north the better chances.

Hi Tim, thank you bro and we're all hanging in there. :) I hope that you and your wife are doing well, too. :) Also your son, dil and grandkids in their new Wisconsin abode. :)

I reckon the Reds powers-that-be have a wx Plan B in place for the Class of 2023 Induction ceremony late this afternoon as Bronson Arroyo, Danny Graves and the late Gabe Paul are recognized. 8-) Gabe Paul was a GM from 1951-1960. :)

Pretty crazy how that happens when you're dealing with t-storms. Just don't do it to me in the winter (When you are in Wisc that doesn't count LOL)

Same here Tim! I'll take another half an inch between the next two systems... more if the gods are smiling. The point is, the big heat so far stays to our south and west.

My guess you were on the northern edge of the heavier rain we had earlier this afternoon. I am due west in Northern Kentucky and got 0.74.

Les got only 0.03 added but gets the ground wet before the sun sets so that can keep a little more moisture into the ground.

I may mow tomorrow Tim around late morning / midday before it gets too hot. Mon / Wed are the next chances that look halfway decent in my mind for rain. Wed could be the bigger of the two per latest guidance.

I was going with Monday but if the rains come overnight or early Monday then I will probably wait to later Tuesday as I have another golf game Tuesday morning.
