What a beautiful evening guys! :) Mod snow, plenty of cold air and the radar looks fantastic for several hours of mod snow to go! The 2" call looking solid! We'll see if a bump up is needed later, don't want to get crazy lol

1008 MB low continues to organize over the N Gulf near New Orleans. Front is starting to get banked up against the Apps now.

SPC Meso page continuing to show the DGZ remains fully saturated across the entire area this evening. Very nice negative EPV and tremendous frontogenic forcing at both 850 and 700 MB. That is overlapping over the Metro area. Rain / Snow line entering SE Crew zones now.

A winter wonderland out there. Walked the dog, visibility less than a half mile. My black jacket and dog were both white when we got home. Bare dirt and pavement nothing sticking.

Does this seem to be over performing to anyone? I wasn't expecting ground cover to stick as fast as did between 530-615 in Cincy.

Les your 2 inches is looking good, I would love to be east of Lexington later tonight as I expect they are going to get hard for several hours.

Meso page kind of shows several lows within an embedded with an elongated area of low pressure - 1008 MB still from New Orleans to West VA. Low should travel along that boundary. Still kind of seeing where the actual dominant center forms. This storm is still in its developing stages. We don't yet know when the energy hand off to the inland East Coast low will occur. This system is evolving and needs to be monitored hour by hour.

6-8" in areas of Eastern KY in the Mountains should be money.

Thank you Leslie, closing in on an inch here. Snowfall rates in my opinion are averaging a half inch per hour.

Nice when you don't need to worry about a warm layer up above
