Quite a flash flood situation unfolding across central IL currently....a nearly stationary west to east band of heavy thunderstorms has caused water rescues north of Champaign with reports of over 8 inches and still coming down.

Models now start to stall Fred out thanks to a big high over New England and the Great lakes this weekend with the front stalled out to our south that passes by on Friday. So depending on where this happens, some models maybe too generous with POPS next week. Something to watch. I think Bgoney may have been talking about this in one of his earlier posts today.

For now... going with POPS tomorrow with the front of course followed by a dry weekend and less humid too. Then for next week, will re-introduce small chance POPS by Tuesday due to uncertainty with Fred's movements (or lack thereof) for next week.

EDIT: We'll have to see how much tropical moisture can actually get in here.

CVG topped out of 93 today. I was a bit high with my call. Still nasty as hell out though with a HI hovering around 100, even now as of this post. 92 for my high today.

Some darkened sky and thunder but no rain from that activity near my area.

Glad more chance on the way as the MO, IL, IN i.e. etc. train is in progress! :thumbupleft:

Not much encouragement from models for tomorrow's rain chance , at least for a beneficial rain. The terrible timing of the front arriving late morning, early afternoon is a bummer. 40-50% Isolated or scattered rain chances

Myself and CVG also dry overnight as expected. Good luck with the front today everyone! Better chances there as one heads south.
