Will once again watch the short term models battle it out today. The HRRR is winning the fight so far since Wednesday though the Nam has caught on to some portions of the long event. For the remainder of today the Nam is further north and west and the HRRR further south and east with the heavy rain. Hopefully the HRRR wins this battle once again

Rain is thinning out over us as the low approaches. It should track over SE IN or close to us so let's see if we stay cloudy or can get any instability going. We wont need much since the triple point is close by. I like the marginal risk out for us as a CYA.

We have a new "lake" here at the Brethren Ret Community in Greenville that is behind an arboretum that was dedicated last year. The BRC swan ponds are high, too, of course and some of those birds have been swimming in that "lake". What an event!

Good morning! As of 7am this morning, CVG is checking in with an event total of 4.65" I sure could hear it pounding most of the night! Per radar, just some lighter rain today which may end as a flurry or ice pellet this evening. Too bad we will fall short of the 6" mark officially. I know some of you did get to that mark so all in all the forecast wasn't awful.

Good Morning Les and so far 5.12 at my house. Will not make the 6-8 at the airport but such a widespread rain and the atmosphere was no doubt loaded and one of the longest and area wide rain events that I can remember. Funny I was looking the NOAA forecast for flooding this spring and they mentioned no widespread flooding expected. Of course they were mainly talking about flooding from snow melt not heavy rains. Much cooler weather in store and a chance for some more rain late week. Does that system hang around for a few days or does it head to the east coast. There are signs though that the severe season is not over and late April and early May we could see another outbreak. Some years its just busy in the severe department while other years very little happens. No doubt drought conditions are not happening and can it come back and sure because if you become dry and hot in late spring or early summer but way too early to look at that happening. Some folks though to the south especially in the southern plains received some rain and they could use more but getting out of their rainy season

Good morning Tim! I am over the 5" mark as well. What a nasty day out there with NE winds gusting to 30, light rain / mist and temps in the low to mid 40s. Wind chills are in the 30s. Yuck!

These are the kind of days, that I'd rather it be snow.
Anyway, an interesting mass this morning as our Church lost power right near the end of the Homily. Just a localized outage, due to fallen trees. My neighborhood is still on thank goodness.
All in all, the flooding will remain days after we stop posting in this thread. Hope that the impacts are minimal for folks on that. Updated CVG total as of 10am is 4.67".

Bgoney locally I believe more folks fell into that 5-7 inch range. Maps never perfect but they give a overall take of rainfall. Lucky in some ways this happen when we had some vegetation starting and if this would have almost anytime from mid-Dec mid March or if the ground was frozen the flooding would have been more widespread. Today feels more like mid-Feb than early April and time for some warmth but not during this week but hopefully by the weekend.

There's a new large body of water here at the Brethren Ret Community called "Swan Lake!"

Some of the swan ponds were flooded and up to the fence post tops around them! What an Incredible Event!
